Week 5 is at Pelikila Golf Club by Brandon Pugh friendBOMBER, but it needs a warning.
The Devil came to me and asked "do you even lift bruh?", which was a little bit confrontational but we chatted and I get his point, Hell as been weak at times.
He suggested Pelikila as a course he had his eye on for a few years, it has been around since 2015 and ported to TGC2021.
There is over a 2,000 yard difference between the Heaven and Hell rounds, but gripping and ripping it in Heaven isn't risk free.
Just because the par 4 is driveable with a 294 yard driver, doesn't mean it is a good idea, be conscious of where there is OB and if your natural miss moves you in that direction.
You will start your round with the majestic cliff side first hole with its green perched out on a peninsula cliff separated from the fairway. Your journey continues down to the beach side holes and zigzagging around the island. There are no shortages of breath taking views on a course that will challenge the player and reward the thinker.
Expecting high scores in both rounds in both directions, could really be a moving week.
Enjoy a throwback week, and listen for the Devils cackle.

Note to self: Must read AND HEED Justin's posts about the course.Now then. statelyowl and my unlucky mate Geoff gdog. Round 1 I played like a big fleshy b00b and it cost me/us dearly on 1 (2 OOBs for a quad Humph) and 9 (double Humph on a par 5!). Still shot -6. Round 2 played more within the rules of physics and the game, flirted with red figures but settled for +1. That is -5 overall for those scoring at home. Onward!

Round 1 HeavenMost colourful card I've ever managed to produce from declaring unplayable stuck under a bridge to my first ever albatross in 2K21....nerves in shreds. Hell can wait!! Go get 'em VctryLnSprts at least I've given you something to work with finally!!

Gave everything back and more on the Hell round. Just needed a little luck...and a bit more attention paid to where OOB was.... Ah well VctryLnSprts improvement in one round, next week I'm going for both. This course was a bit above my pay grade! Finished +3 overall. |

That was AWESOME! I am a huge fan of the extreme differences between heaven and hell, so I loved the setup this week. I felt like I made some mistakes in both rounds that I should've avoided, but played smart overall and it paid off. -11 and then -1 for a -12 total. My partner SkyBlueBen played well, too, so hoping we can score some points this week and move up into the playoff bracket zone. |
