I'll spare the backstory of why I'm interested in this, but it is definitely something I'm curious about and hope some of you guys will respond to.
Two basic questions: 1. Frequency - how often are you calibrating? Did it once and haven't touched since, do it every day before playing, every week...etc? 2. Method - are you simply trying to swing "normal," or going with 5 slow then 5 fast, or purposefully slower than "normal," or purposefully faster...etc?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I rarely do it but when i have it seems to mess me up more than help for a bit. I go for 10 perfects normally and hit it close to perfect. But have noticed if you do this your irons are always on the slow side. It seems different on ps4 because depending on how you calibrate depends on where you hit the perfect. If you watch streams of some of the top ps4 players they only ever hit left edge of perfect or right edge consistently. Whereas others middle the perfect and thats it. Ive noticed on ps5 what would be a perfect on ps4 is on border of fast and slow on ps5 and the perfect can be anywhere in the white box. It goes where u hit it. I also noticed on ps4 that you get consistent grey fast poll points and very similar red fasts. Ps5 is definitely trickier to play as the controller does what you put in. Every swing is different. Id love to see my tempo api for tgct this week if that is at all possible compared to a round on ps4. So much more enjoyable. I havent tried 10 fasts yet to see what happens. But im guessing it,ll make your swing slower and favor the slow. On the ps5 i dont really recommend calibrating if im honest. What have u found on ur ps5?

Hi Justin, 1. Last time I calibrated was one or two weeks prior to the qualifying event. Since then, I only adjust ingame 'mouse swing sensitivity' from time to time. Currently at 76 because I got a mousepad (swinged on the desk before). Pre-mousepad it was 63-65. 2. Normal, but I would compensate the occasional slows or fasts the next shot so that the average is still about right. Hope this helps. Cheers, Kevin

I did it almost once a week when I first got the game, but once I finally felt that I was "used" to it, I did it once more and have not touched it since.
I don't try to do anything fancy, I just try to swing like I normally would when I calibrated.
I notice that I start a little fast, then after about 6-9 holes I can hit perfects pretty consistently, and when in the rhythm, I know what it is supposed to feel like. But I start hitting fast as I get excited or the yips, and I start hitting slow when I'm overthinking the shot, and trying to hard.
Hope that is some info you are looking for!

Interested to hear what others have done. I'm in a bit of a pickle with my calibration now.
Tempo was fine before the recent update then after I found that it was off a bit and figured I would try recalibrating.
My calibration history consists of setting it once at the start of the game then doing nothing with it til September and then nothing again with it until now. My problem is now after calibrating my "Perfect" swing is now a grey slow by just a hair. My previous calibration I don't think it was even possible for me to get a grey slow and it maybe happened less than 3% of the time. The same thing happened when I recalibrated in September and I can't remember how I fixed it for the life of me. Has anyone experienced this / know how to revert it? When I go back into calibration I keep on ending up with the exact same tempo and keep getting stuck on grey slows. Basically makes the game unplayable for me.
My typical strategy for calibration is try to get as many perfects as possible and cancel the calibration if I miss too many. Basically if I get less than 7 perfects I'll restart the calibration. That has worked for myself and others in the past. I think I was a bit tilted when I did my recent calibration and just went with whatever I got and it has completely screwed me now as I can't get a perfect tempo in calibration and have to settle with the grey slows. Hoping someone knows a way out of this calibration jail I am in. I wish there was a way to "reset" calibration to what it was when the game was installed.

This is pure speculation since I don't think anyone has an absolute understanding of this process...but if you're stuck getting grey slows, I'd calibrate with slower swings - grey slows - which, in theory, would shift your "perfect" slightly slower than it was before. Those grey slow swings should then become perfect since you've calibrated for a slower swing, thus shifting your perfect range slightly slower than it was before. Hope that makes sense, but again, take it with a grain of salt...

I calibrated a few times on PS4 when the game was newer. Once I found something that worked for me I left it completely alone.
I didn't carry my save file over to PS5 as I thought HB carried all that data on their servers (was wrong), so I started with a "fresh" new default swing when I switched, meaning I had to calibrate it again. After 3 tries I found something that I am happy with and do not intend to change and will likely leave it alone again. I use a more forgiving driver, so am just able to get three different spots of perfect with the driver.
When I calibrate I hit what I feel is my regular or normal swing so it is something repeatable. All my shots when calibrating go to the left, but nothing crazy hard left. I don't try to game my calibration to skew towards faster or slower than my normal swing. As it is likely an average of the 10 swings I tried to get 10 pretty consistent swings so that when I play my rounds my misses should still be contained in the grey slow/fast area or perfects on a large % of my shots. I do know that sometimes I hit slow approaches but that is on me and instead of playing the calibration game I constantly try to remind myself that I need to not try to aim or 'groove' my tempo on approaches.
Hope that didn't lose you too much Justin. Please also account the system differences and that PS4/5 has the advantage with tempo and that is where I am coming from with my particular approach.
Hope you can get it sorted!
Forgot to add this: I played wireless/Bluetooth on PS4, but on PS5 I play wired via USB now. I don't know if that translates to PC and/or XBox like it does on PS4/5 or not.

I calibrate after any update and when I try a different controller. I will play a few rounds I try to get an idea of my tendency. I play for perfects so I think it might be easier to calibrate. If I’m hitting in the red more on the fast side I will calibrate by trying to hit all slightly fast. Opposite if I tend to hit some red slows I calibrate with slightly slow. Sometimes it takes a few tries but when I get it right I will rarely hit into the red by accident.

Haven't calibrated for months... should I? I play for perfects and get them (after the dip after the last update and having to adjust my marker-placement strategy) some 70/80% of the time, I would say. A few slows (one or two) each round and the rest grey fast. I play wired and have one spot to hit perfect and one to hit grey fast. Haven't played unwired for about a year, I think, because I used to get a lot of very slows when I did and playing wired solved that problem. Now I'm scared of going unwired again... What would you do: - keep doing what I'm doing
- recalibrate to see if I can get two points to hit perfect
- start playing unwired
- buy PS5
Just curious to hear your thoughts...

I keep flip flopping. You will need to recal when you switch from wired to wireless.

I did it at the start when I got the game and a couple of times after that while trying to figure out a swing that suited me. About 6 weeks or so ago I settled into a nice rhythmic swing tempo, recalibrated using that and it went really well. Then after the last update all of a sudden everything was going red fast for some reason so I recalibrated again and it has been good again. I don't usually do it unless the swing starts going off so no regular frequency.
Whenever I do it I just use my normal swing tempo that feels natural because it's easily repeatable in game, I find it stuffs everything up trying to hit it faster or slower in the calibration because then you have to repeat that in game and it doesn't feel right.

I keep flip flopping. You will need to recal when you switch from wired to wireless. Ever tried calibrating while wireless but then playing wired? A great player and reliable expert once explained that provided the most points.
