Was just about to ask what your inspiration for this course was and then thought I'd better open Google Maps and check. You were quite specific with the location and the winking emoji. I see what you have done! What's the background on Old "Money" Club?

Colt designed it. Ross built it with the colt plans. This version is the Colt version.

One thing about this course is that it is terrifyingly difficult around the greens. Lots of short grass and spots where shots can filter away, like Augusta. They are slowly restoring it back to the Colt plans, so this RCR will be ahead of them slightly.

Looks excellent.
There sure are a ton of Upper Midwest RCR courses available in-game now, I notice. Is it the IRL home base for a lot of designers here ?

Some geographic locations work with the available themes better than others. I'd say this part of the US is one of the easier ones to match. There is also accurate and complete lidar data freely available, and a lot of really fine (historical) courses that typically translate over well considering how the game plays. Take a look at the Donald Ross designed courses map: HERE
And where the US courses H.S. Colt designed are HERE

I grew up in Michigan and live near this course now in the burbs of Chicagoland. Chicagoland golf goes so deep, mainly because there was a lot of money here in the early 1900s. There are some great clubs that most people would have never heard of: Exmoor, Westmoreland, Onwentsia, and on and on.

It's going well. I'm completely done with the tweaks to the front nine and am going into the back nine soon. It's probably 2 hours per hole to make the final adjustments- 18 hrs away... 2 weeks. tee shot on 8 zoomed in. Approach from further back than you'd be hitting from. Fairway is connected. #9- short par 4, but tricky with new waste area and bunkering.

I've been distracted with the Lido stuff, but periodically coming back to this one and trying to implement all of the original Colt plans. This hole needs a bit of work still, but I'm building out the green like he wanted it- similar to the one that he built at St George's Hill. The tip below is pointier than it looks from this angle and the concept was that if you drove it in the middle of the fairway, you'd have the ability to use this point to run the ball up onto the green. If you strayed away from the middle of the fairway, you'd have to stop it with height/ spin instead.
