Wow! Just finished my first practice round on this re-design. Is it The US Open time already?? This was extremely challenging, with 2 inch landing-areas on several pins, and a several of the pins was just hilarious...
I'm not complaining(?), but this was seriously tough. Too tough?

Played a 2 over in 2 mph winds and then a 3 over in 20 mph. There are a few tricky spots, but i think ive figured it out

This version was released some time ago and was done because there were a lot of players complaining about the green speeds. When I designed it the pins were placed with SLOW speeds in mind. Usually I see links courses with a lot of undulation but not TOO fast. *shrug* They picked this version for you guys! ENJOY!

I usually play on the pga but crossed over this week to play firm and fast and il b doin the same for Swindon, IMO these conditions even the scores out it just takes patience as a bogey or a double dosnt mean the end of ur tournament

It will most certainly be tough. I have played a couple of rounds now, -3 and even par, even tho I knew where to miss and not. But some bumps in fairway, and those pins are gonna make it tough all right! With some wind, I think the cut will be the lowest uptill now, maybe around -2??

This course is a beast in a good way. I played it yesterday with 20 mph winds and shot well over par. Hopefully winds aren't always like that. I had myself a "Tin Cup" moment on one hole trying to flop without the ball spinning back right back and ending up at my feet again.

Okay, I am all for having more challenging courses for our tournaments, but this is ridiculous!!!!! The slopes are a bit harsh. Approach shots can't be more than a foot off target without catching a slope and going off the sides of the green . Pins placed so any putt that goes past the cup runs 10 or more feet by. With the top players at the Masters, the winning score here might be around 10 under with a cut aroun 5 or 6 over. No offense to the designer but this layout is an example of "tricked up" difficulty. Shame that while the top 100 get the beautiful Magnolia National, we are stuck with this nightmare. Since this weeks event is a made-up event, why not "mini masters" also at Magnolia?

Again, I designed it with SLOW greens and soft conditions. This was published later at the request of a few players that wanted it faster. The slopes were designed with the original speeds in mind. *shrug* enjoy or don't. Try the original version if you like to see what the intent was.

Ahhh quit your belly aching.. Play the course that you are given. Ya say the slopes are harsh? Well boohoo... They're harsh for everyone. Ya say if ya hit a putt too hard it's gonna roll straight through to the next event? Well cry me a river Margaret... I'm just glad Lee Marvin isn't around to see what grown men (and ladies....never want to leave out the ladies) are getting all pissy eyed about. It's an even playing field. I may be the one that rolls twenty feet past a hole on a putt. Am I gonna blame the designer? Negatory. It's my own damn fault.belch.....

Doog, again I liked the original, which would have been a fine tournament venue. But the choice of modified course is what I question . As for being a whiner, that I do take offense to. After listening to the belly aching that generally occurs on the forums about the smallest things, I make a valid point and get called out. If you want to hear invalid complaining look no further than the threads about the current event

Oh I don't consider any of folks complaining to be whining. It's a legitimate concern. I think TGCT is kind of feeling this out a bit and whenever that happens some will like it and some won't. I'm fine with folks not liking anything I do. It's all good!

If you don't play good/your best golf here, you might end up above Par. I was way above Even on my very first round. Played -5 and -4 after that. Thought I found the key to pwn this beast... and it fought back... resulting in a round of +4. Once again, you just have to think about your shots and execute accordingly. If you don't, you might make a Bogey (or even worse). But hey... that's Golf!

What do people think will be the winning score? Have to think around -15 to -20 would be more than good enough, right? Unless someone gets going with low winds.
