Yoho River Golf Course is my entry into the 2020 Dream Team Contest for Team Red! Yoho River takes inspiration from Banff Springs, Jasper Park, and Stanley Thompson. The routing stays fairly true to the original hole sequencing at Banff. The first tee shot is the most elevated of the day and sends you over Yoho River to a fairway well below. The course winds its way along undulating terrain, out to the 8th hole, a tribute to the Devils Cauldron at Banff. From there the course works its way out to Yoho River. 14-18 follow the river back to the hotel, which looms over the 18th hole. Hole 16-18, in keeping with the original finishing holes at Banff will play very challenging. A fun little design feature I tried to incorporate was something Stanley Thompson did on his mountain courses. He would mimick the distant mountain ranges with mounds and bunkers. This feature is included on hole 4 (at the green), hole 7 (tee shot), hole 9 (tee shot) and hole 12 (at the green). I hope everyone enjoys their rounds on this course! Remember to stay below the hole...

Had a great time on this course tonight, and was impressed in many ways. My favorite part of the experience was the juxtaposition of the lush planting and green pines against the backdrop of the white-capped mountains. Great job!

LMAO! I had a similar experience in the massage parlor. Was this massage parlor named the Deliverance Spa by any chance?

I guess it is safe to assume that if the designer is named matt at this point, it's probably going to be a good course. Another stellar course, at this point I've already used up all my vocabulary describing how good all these dream team courses are, this is no exception.

This course was fun to watch come alive during live streams. What can I say? Homie delivered. Solid, solid course Matt!

I guess I should have checked this thread before playing. I figured with the name and the bunker styles that it was going to be an homage to Stanley Thompson, but I didn't know I was going to be transported back to Banff. On the 8th tee I had an inkling that I was at the Devil's Cauldron, but it was the 9th tee where I thought, "I'm at Banff right now."
Our group had to shotgun start while I was there, so between that and the modern routing, I didn't really have my bearings as to where I was until the back 9. I'm going to have to go back and play the front 9 again just so I'll be more keyed in.
Now that you've brought back so many good memories, I gotta share some pictures now, of course!

Wow, really nice course on the game and IRL. The lighting is set up nice with great views off the tees. Bunkers around the greens are really well done and adds something to the approach shots. The planting is consistent and so well done here, just the right amount of touch. This course checks all the boxes and is one of my favorites of the recent releases. Just a great design.
