This is my first season playing on TGC Tours and couldn't find this answer after reading. Do promotion and demotion marks have any impact on getting promoted? Or is it solely determined on what you shoot in the tourney?

Or is it solely determined on what you shoot in the tourney? How you finish in the promotion event is the only factor. If you do not promote in it, then your green or red marks will remain in the tour you were/are in. If you do promote, then you will be in your new tour with no marks the week following the promotion event.

I’m not saying I’m going to shoot very well but say people are in CC-L and shoot very well what kind of promotion do they get? One tier up?

Shoot well enough you could accidentally put yourself in platinum 😃

Theoretically you could go all the way up to Platinum if you did well enough. It's all dependent on how many slots in each tier are available. In reality what will likely happen is that there are going to be a fair amount of Pro (Platinum, Elite, and Kinetic) cards available. That I can reasonably assume. So most of the promotions are going to be from tours just below those tours. That in turn allows more cards available from the tours just below Pro tours. It then cascades down in a similar manner throughout the tours. The X factor is participation in the CC tours as Admin has a 1XX number that they will strive for as the ideal number of active players. Basically do the best you can and see what happens.

I really enjoy the weekly schedule of what the TGC Tours offers. I believe there are 3 promotion events this season. But each week is different with a new set of challenges with each new Tournament. I’m starting to jump in the other TGC societies for a couple of rounds to see where I fall with regards to their particular cut line. Plus I enjoy the different courses and the experience I get playing them.

If I get my tour card at the Chubbs this week, I can play in this right? And can I play in both this and the regular event?

I’m sure you also know this question. Is everyone eligible for qualifying at the American Open, Firethorn tournaments.

I’m sure you also know this question. Is everyone eligible for qualifying at the American Open, Firethorn tournaments. Everyone outside of Platinum with a current main tours card has been eligible in the past. The amount of spots open for the Firethorn event has been pretty small in the past. Unsure how that will be handled this year. I think in the past the American Open was 10 spots per the three qualifying events. We shall see if that remains the same this season.

The admin always seem to have these promotion events either just after or right on the week of the Masters. Coincidence? I wonder...

Is it fair to say everyone should treat the promotion event like they would when they were doing the qualifying? Are there just a lot of players on the pro tours that are either not playing much anymore or have they been demoted and that’s the reason for the promotion event?

This event serves a few purposes... Allows us to fill in the higher tours, to make them play as full as possible To move people throughout the cc tours (in other words... when the CC tours start to fill up.. which shouldn't happen much with the new promotion / demotion system... it allows us to lower those tour sizes as people move up in the ranks) It also gives people who feel they are stuck at a certain level a chance to move up
