Hi everyone!
I've pulled this course LIDAR and imported into 2K21, numbered the holes properly and have cleared the random trees pulled in. However, I'm horribly slow and bad at planting. Would anyone want the course file to work on and get this up and posted?
Hopefully we can get this one out there for the community.
Cheers,
TJ

Having now received the file, I just can't wait to get the time to steadily work on this!

There’s a lot of variation in the look / style from one part of the property to another, which leads me to be more comfortable handling the planting myself. I may look for help in playtesting and surfacing if you are interested in that? PM me if so. Thanks for letting me know you’re interested.

Not sure if you’re going to be doing any sculpting work, but from what I remember in the tgc2019 version, some of the greens needed some extra sculpting around the edges as they would awkwardly fall off into bunkers or other swales. I think there were some fairway splines that also didn’t match very well with the green splines. Also making sure the fairways and greens have a more muted surface color is key, last time I think they were a little too lime green. The course was good in ‘19, but I think if you’re willing to put a little more work into it, it can be fantastic.

Interesting -- I definitely noted some issues with that, wasn't sure if it was slightly inaccurate surfacing, inconsistent LiDAR data or that was just the way the course looked. Probably the easiest fix would be to slightly change the sculpting and/or surfacing to fit better for in-game purposes, but there are other parts of surfacing and playability that I will be focusing on earlier on in the process than that. Most of the surfacing work will be done cross-referencing various flyovers that exist out there on the internet, unless someone has more exact info out there and is willing to provide it.

Subscribed. Been looking into bandon a lot lately, not an easy look to work with in the designer but looking forward to it non the less.

Whats the update on this? I see a Pacific Dunes Lidar with decent rating and lots of plays in the game, is this that version? I'm taking my time on this, have surfacing done on 1-5 and 12+13 and, though it's fully playable and would probably be just fine as is with some planting, I want to put the proper attention into it. Any Pacific Dunes publish thus far isn't mine; I do know that others have at least had the Lidar file before so it doesn't surprise me that there's already a publish out there. My desktop is out of commission for most of today but I have a couple of screenshots kicking around somewhere, I'll go ahead and edit this post with them when I find them.

Sorry for long radio silence, I have finished redoing all the surfacing on the course for accuracy/playability purposes. I'll be able to soon put in some visual/planting work to start making this course come to life. Here's some comparison photos of the real life holes to what I have so far in game. Hole 11: Hole 13: Hole 16: Let me know if any of you want to see any of the other holes, I'll gladly share more pics. Rough publish ETA is probably 2 months out at best I'd say.
