With some encouragement from other folks in the community, I decided to try my hand at recording a design video. My first recording is a discussion of the routing of Crystal Downs C.C., using the RCR by theclv24 to demonstrate. Rather than doing a detailed analysis of each hole, I focus on how each hole makes use of the features of the property and how you might apply this thinking to your own designs. I hope to do a few more of these routing case studies and also hope to do some other videos on design concepts more generally.

Just go through all Mackenzies courses. I hear theclv24 has another well known one.

*whispers* That first body of water is actually Lake Michigan. Crystal Lake is on the other side of the course, past the 5th hole.
It would have been nice for that to actually look like the lake, maybe with the interchanging themes it could be done more convincingly now, I don't know. One thing that's lost without the lake is the view on the 14th hole. Not only do you see the lake in the distance, but I think you can actually see a piece of the Sleeping Bear Dunes too. I'll report back if I ever play it, so far I've only stalked the perimeter of the course.
