Obviously looks great so far. Is it going to be a shorter course with the tight routing?

Very nice. Looks like I'm going to need to throw my shovel wedge into the bag.

I mean, some of the sand is shaped like a belt so I guess that qualifies? But seriously Ben, this is a great looking project and should be good fun. From what I've seen, hole 10 is my favourite.

I love that course overview, That style of bunker is my fav, they almost look puffy. How would you describe that type of bunker?

Looking good so far! Thanks for sharing.
I wrote a handful of articles/profiles on Sandbelt courses back when I was running a Travel startup and have been wanting to get to Melbourne and play them someday. Still waiting for that day, but if you can enable me to do so virtually, that would be great!
Curious - do you have a "framework" of sorts for playtesting? Considering how organized and analytical you are in your design approach (that's a compliment), was wondering if you follow a process in playtesting.
No worries at all if not, but thought I'd ask.

Considering how organized and analytical you are in your design approach (that's a compliment), was wondering if you follow a process in playtesting. No worries at all if not, but thought I'd ask. Kinda. Playtest often whilst designing and play stretches of holes rather than just one hole/one shot over and over. For me, it's key to get a flow of holes going so you get a feel for whether you're asking the same kinds of questions, balancing easy and difficult, giving different looks, varying pins etc. all whilst having it feel cohesive. I also feel that if you play one hole or shot over and over you end up hating that shot, overthinking it or losing the feel of what it should be - it becomes very easy to demand only a perfect shot if you've practised and hit rewind 10 times on every playtest. You'll see this in more detail in the upcoming tutorial series based on this course, but when it comes close to the end, what I'll do is play a round and make tons of notes. I'll be looking at everything from planting to sightlines and checking that what you see is what I want and that the bounces are what I expect (plus some randomness). Then leap back in and edit all of those things, playing that specific hole based a couple of times just looking at that one aspect, then when I've done all those things (might take a couple of days after the first major playtest), play again on a different pin. Same thing: tons of notes, bit more fixing etc etc. There's also a final list of things to check that is both monotonous and pretty detailed lol. Again, will be covering that in the upcoming series. Final thing I'd suggest is to let the course breathe a bit. We all get to the stage where we just want the damn thing done, but leaving it a couple of days then coming back to play a casual round can breathe new life into it rather than a speedy publish. Guess the main point would be that one about playing stretches of holes (e.g. 1-5 and then leaping back in) rather than all 18 (you forget some) or just the single hole on repeat.
