Wow really don't know how to even explain that round. Course playing really tricky. Winds wreaking havoc green speeds and undulations catching me off guard. Fairways unable to find (57%). Finished up -27. Maybe a bad day at the office but my tempo was strangely way off the mark tonight, played a practice round and had no issues at all. Could be me being a bag of nerves 😗

Anyone seeing this course giving you very unexpected tempos? I think I have figured out that is what my problem is. I have tried a couple of times to hit a fast and get a slow, then try to hit a slow and get a Very Fast. The Tempo meter is all over the place. First course this season that I can say I have really had an issue with the tempo over a multitude of shots. I had a friend play it and he was having issues too. Just played my first round, and I've never seen tempo discrepancies like this before. Tempo was different on every single tee for me, as borne out by several practice swings that I decided were vital to even keep the ball on the course. One tee I was having to slam the mouse forward; next tee would have caused a VF if I'd done the same.
Things came to a head on 14. Perfect tee shot in the middle, 2 perfect practice swings, followed by a 9 o'clock on the dial very fast that nearly went into a yacht.
-3 round which included 3 bogeys and 1 double. Off for a stiff drink, and good luck to you all. Too annoyed to even contemplate playing a second round at the moment.

Austin Country Club...Really??? Surely who ever picks the courses could have found something else? Strongly disagree, Jeff who did this RCR has done a superb job and it's very worthy of a spot on tour.

-3, -12, -7, +5 (lol)... It was so bad I can’t help but laugh. I think I was around -24 or so after the 8th in rd 4. Drive goes Fast and I’m parked up on the fairway to the left behind the trees a bit. Plenty of green to the right, don’t be a hero with all that OB short and left. First attempt clips the tree, just enough to crash into the front of the green and bounce into OB. No big deal, it happens. 2nd attempt goes Fast, more OB. 3rd attempt, let’s just get out of here, aim far right, at this point your family is hiding their faces in embarrassment... bam a Very Fast, OB again. There might have been another OB in there but who’s counting.
And that was the first time I have invoked a stroke limit on tour.

Also curious as to why this week of all weeks is the one where the setting is so off when the Italian Open was "in Melbourne" and Andalucía Masters was "in the Carolinas". Point being is these are fictional courses and it's just a tournament name - and a fake one at that. Look at the fires burning in Plat thread every week. We need to appreciate just how good our schedule is.

To be fair, they'd be flaming regardless of the scheduler. You could give them Firethorn every week and complain it wasn't "sandbelty" enough As for the golf, it's a course that makes me uncomfortable. I certainly felt there were some phantom lidar artifact breaks in there, but such is life on those course. Same for everyone. -11 after 36 and played about as poorly as I could in R2. Gonna hold off playing to final two to see if it's good enough to make the weekend. My ego would be happy if I did, but my nerves could use the weekend off from that course.

Looking great after three rounds at -24, but I hadn’t played my terrible round yet. Finished with a horrible -2 to finish -26.

I can't speak for our schedulers... but I don't even look at the tournament name when I am scheduling.

Quick question probably best aimed at jwtexan; I noticed the winds for round 1 were "default" and I've played a few practice rounds on this setting and have found the wind direction is different every time. Surely this means that the wind is different for every player thus meaning we are all potentially playing a different course in rd 1?

Never been a fan of Austin CC. It's a fine lidar and RCR though. Just not my cup of coffee.
Only managed E after round 1 and will probably just bag it this week, take the double demos and move to Kinetic. I've not made a single cut here and clearly do not belong. Has really sapped my enjoyment of the game and TGCT.
If Kinetic goes similar, I'll self-demote to Beer League.
