Can I just say: The leaderboard currently looks like a proper leaderboard!! People wanted realism - this is it. This tournament is the way things should be going in the future! IMO

69 & 71 for first two rounds (-4) It's certainly tough going out there.
got a triple bogey on one of the par 3's in my second round... that was a right killer

I have just played round 3 in winds ranging from 10-15mph, shooting 75 (+3) not good. This course is way too difficult for me. Some of they greens are just mental, especially trying to stop anywhere close to the pin (in my humble opinion may I add). Playing alongside the ghosts, it amazes me how so many people can either chip in with there being so much break or make these super duper lonnnnnnng putts. -1 after 3 rounds If a Mickey Mouse tour ever comes to fruition, give me a shout

After round 1 over 50% of the field are ahead of me who haven't even teed off yet, hoping my round 2 is sufficient to turn it round.

Just shot a -4 for R1. For me that is a good score since my practice rounds were around even par. Tough course. Haven't shot R2 yet.

Round 1, shot a 70 (-2). Was 6 under until the bogie monster got me on the back nine. Round 2, shot a 66 (-6), with only 1 bogie. The greens require a lot o thought, and positioning, as the rollout can leave you short sided, with an uphill chip, or a long chip on very slippery greens. Really enjoyed the "new" greens, and a par felt really good on most of the holes. The trick is to birdie all of the par 5's, and get 3-4 birdies on the shorter holes. Par 3's are mostly par holes, while hitting the greens is a premium. Again, really enjoyed the course, where par's are a premium, and birdies are hard to get.

Ha! I had to learn this same lesson. Playing "airplane" with your 3 year old while your 12yo daughter dances about in front of the tv, and carrying a convo with the wife all at the same time, isn't a recipe for "going low." Only have R1 in the books so far. Finished it with a 68 (-4). On the one hand I'm fine with that, as I've birdied more holes (7) than on any practice round. On the other hand I'm a bit pissed, as I've bogeyed more holes (3) than on any practice round. I hope that R2 is going to be a bit better. Would love to stay at -10 after two rounds. We'll see... Went on with the tournament yesterday. R2 was more then less a copy of R1. I had troubles on the front nine, going to the 10th tee with Even again. Made two birdies and an eagle on the 15th, scoring another 68 (-4). So I'm sitting at -8 after R2, hoping that is going to be enough to make the cut. I'm really curious what it will be in the end, but right now it looks like this score might be enough to make it into the weekend. Went directly into R3 after that, and this time I managed to go a little bit lower. -3 on the front nine, -3 on the back nine, total of 66 (-6) in the clubhouse. That was a round of golf I was satisfied with, considering the given conditions. R1: 68 (-4) R2: 68 (-4) R3: 66 (-6)
Total 202 (-14) after three rounds

Scores reflecting real life tournament play, tough but fair conditions for everyone (except wind I know). Got to say this has probably been my favourite tournament to date. I know not everyone will agree but I think this is the right way for tgct tours to go for the two main tours.

Hmmmm, where to begin. I guess my scores is a good place to start, 68 71 for -5. should make the cut. If it wasnt for my excellent chipping abilities I think that I would be no better than E. I understand the desire to make the overall scores appear more realistic, but its really at the expense of the overall fun of the experience. These uberfirm greens take away the ability to make shots. I mean landing the ball on the very front tip of the green only to have it roll off the back is beyond aggravating. I REALLY think taking an existing course and then just firming it up isn't the answer. If you want to execute a firm course, especially when you need to fly the green w a mid to long iron, the course needs to be set up for shots like that. With no option to impart any sort of backspin on your ball, you're left just firing balls up to the green and then having to deal w where it lands. I know in golf everything is relative, and we're playing under the same difficult stipulations, and that we're all very good players and the challenge needs to be somewhat extreme to prevent the majority of the field from shooting in the 50s. This is really just a result of grinding these 1st 2 rounds and asking myself why I'm subjecting myself to such anguish because it wasn't fun. I certainly hope the tour doesn't go in a direction where every week will be like this.

Too much complaining going on, I'm a big golf fan and watch it every week and also play a few times a week and I think these conditions are exactly how it should be, it's ok having fun but surely we all joined Tgct to compete against each other and these complaints could apply to the best course in the world!!! A yard out at Augusta and you could end up off the green or 60 feet away on lightning greens, then we have people saying you can't go for pins, watch the pros there are pins that they can't get at even in summer at my local club there are pins you won't get near because of the firm conditions, that's golf it's the same for the next person.
P.s grinding out scores is what it's all about. When it comes to playing golf 90% of the time you'll be grinding maybe even 95%, it's the hardest game in the world Because of what it puts you through mentally, that's why most of us go back for more.
