It is always a honor when we have a course by someone famous and this weeks course is designed by a celebrity known the world over. The Kinetic tour is proud to present Cobbtown Match Club by Grover. Actually now since he won one off the design contest last year, he can be known as Super Grover. It is a well known fact that many if not all designers are Muppets, I hear it all the time, this designer is a Muppet, this course must have been designed by a Muppet so it is so great to have a designer that does not hide behind a fake name and shows what a Muppet he really is. In fact, You know, it's not just designers that are Muppets, some of the people that test the courses for us are also Muppets, in fact, here is some exclusive footage of one of tgctours rangers testing this very course to make sure it is playable for you guys.
So i bet you are all exited to know who the course is brought to you by, and I have kept you waiting long enough, this weeks course is brought to you by the letter C and by the number 18. I know the number is unusual for a lot of you guys and that you have never counted that high before so if you are struggling, please ask a parent or guardian for help. Can you guys think of anything else that is brought to you by the letter C? Just remember, my kinetic children, to please watch your language as any rude words will land you in time out which means to weeks on the platinum tour forums, coincidentally a place where the C word has been used a lot.
For the first four weeks here on the Kinetic tour, the weather has not been to bad, there are reports though of a storm approaching, for a possible hint on how the first two rounds will play, here is the designer himself working his day job
Now there has been some confusion the past few weeks, why some holes seem closer than others. That is because we can now use different tees. Take this week for example, this week we are using to sets of tees. I understand this concept has been confusing to many of you and you cant figure out why one day you can reach the green in two but on other days, its seems so far away. Yet again, Grover comes to the rescue to explain it in a way that your fragile little minds might understand.
And finally, I am thrilled to announce that instead of a boring old trophy, the winner of these weeks event gets a special prize, a unique one of a kind computer chair that will allow them to play tgctours in luxury and comfort. There were three designs submitted to us, it was difficult to decide which to use but to be clear and transparent, here are tgctours staff members and Grover himself picking the winning design.
So I want to wish you all the best of luck out there, dont forget to keep counting, it can really help keep track of your score.

It has been brought to my attention that this weeks course was in fact designed by grovey31, sorry about that Adam. I am sticking to my guns about designers being muppets though.

Drawn the early/late tee times this week, so figured I'd post a R1 score and wait until Wednesday evening to play R2 as I'm working earlier that day. Was thinking the number of the day was going to be the cutline, but then I stepped onto the 1st tee and it must be the wind mph instead. Good job I've gone for the Mr Clean look otherwise it might have appeared to be pro celebrity golf being played by Bobby Charlton's comb over flapping in the breeze. Letter of the day must stand for curtain as some will think it's a Wendy's advert when asking "Where's the beef" as they track down the scheduler for having VH winds in R1.
Anyway's, I managed a bogey free -11. Tempo was pretty good and scrambled well when I did have a duff approach shot. I did think the letter C might have stood for Car sick with the tree shadows whipping in the wind on a few holes.
Good luck everyone.

opened up with a bogey free two eagle -12 then tempo went to sh%$ in round 2 due to an undercharged controller and I could only manage -3. so sitting at -15 at the cut should be enough ๐ onto tst

Came out firing in my first round and shot a -12 in the very high winds. Round 2 had high winds but I was only able to manage a -6. Sitting at -18. Not sure if it was faster greens or tougher pin placements but the looks at birdies were much harder to come by in round 2.
Instead of playing all 4 Iโm going to wait to see where -18 lands after the cut. With the conditions we are facing Iโm hopeful -18 puts me in contention to make a run at it during the weekend.

I head into this week with my pride significantly damaged after missing the last two cuts by 1 stroke each, and considering how many stupid things I've done the last two events, finding one stroke in each of those tournaments would not be difficult (cue the 4-putt double bogey I had in R2 last week, for example).
Grovey is one of my favorite designers, so I enter this week with hope that the good vibes about the course will lead me to shooting decent scores to make the cut. My tee times are Monday at 4:30pm ET, I'll report back in after with screams of joy or tears of defeat. LOL

After a slow start -3 R1, got lucky on R2 with an Alby and tap-in eagle to finish -10. -13 should squeak by the cut line.

Solid R1 at -8 with the only bogey coming on 18. R2 was a mass with tempo and stupid mistakes. 2 bogeys and a double bogey canceled out my 2 birdies and an eagle on the front to bring me to -2 R2.
-10 Feels like I will be missing the cut by a stroke or 2 this week unfortunately but I guess time will tell. Really gutted to piss away a round like I did in R2. Really struggling to put solid rounds together back to back and Im not too sure what to do to fix it. Oh well, another week of cut watching and hopefully no demo marks even if I miss.

10:30am ET Tuesday Update 86 Players have started the tournament 72 Players have completed round 2 66 Players yet to tee off (based on 152 currently being on Kinetic Tour)
Average Round 1 score = 67.1 Average Round 2 score = 66.9
Interesting to see that both rounds are playing right around an average of 67 (-6). I would have thought the very high winds in round 1 would have a bigger impact. I think the pin placements in round 2 were harder though. My model assumes only 118 of the 152 in Kinetic actually finish 2 rounds. This is in line with recent number of players completing.
I have the projected cut line right now at -12 or better. Obviously this can change as more people play. You guys are playing some really nice virtual golf this week!

I played like crap, finished #14 standing at +2, then somehow managed to rattle off four straight birdies to finish at -2. I am going to have to play lights out to make the cut this week, and I have not been doing that lately

-10 -9 to sit at -19 for 2 rounds. Couple of pars on the scoreable par 5โs and a couple bogeys in the opening 2 rounds. But all in all pretty pleased with those scores as I hadnโt played particularly well practicing on this course.
See if I can have a better final 2 rounds than last weekโs -4 -4 ๐ Must say, some of the tree shadows on the greens are doing my head in when trying to read some putts ๐
Good luck this week everyone ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ

12:45pm ET Wednesday Update 109 Players have started the tournament 101 Players have completed round 2 43 Players yet to tee off (based on 152 currently being on Kinetic Tour)
Average Round 1 score = 67.2 Average Round 2 score = 66.9
23 more folks have started their rounds since yesterday. Scoring average has changed 0.1 strokes higher (essentially flat). -10 has officially been knocked out of the cut per TGC website showing -10 in 66th place. -11 is currently 57th place. If we get to around 115 participants we should see the cut line go to -12 and better. Still hope for those at -11 though if the 43 players yet to tee off stay away! Good luck

I would have had to shoot a -10 in round two to make the cut, and that was unlikely with that course and conditions. Nine birdies was a good try, but two doubles (one a four putt) and a bogey and I am missing the cut by a bunch at -6 for the two rounds. On to next week!
