Question: I am currently working on a course that i am planning to spend a month on and looking too submit it to TGC tours when I am done. should I include the crowds in my initial design or should I publish a tournament version if it is tour worthy? I would appreciate any help.

Do what makes sense for the course and design what you want. Whether there are crowds or not doesn’t matter when it comes to getting on tour. There are many of both types of courses that have been used on tour. I will say crowds need to be well placed and make sense otherwise it can look weird and unnatural and mess with the feel of the course. Do it wisely

I’d been toying with that too... now that I got over the hump of getting my first course published and approved, I have been experimenting with an ‘Open championship’ type vibe... I’ve been to the last 4 opens (British)... and am working on the fundamental structure of the course including crowd seating etc... whether I then create a version without, I’m not sure about... it’s an interesting question... do you build a course and then add tournament objects or build with them and then remove... I’m attempting the latter!

'Crowds' is one thing, 'crowd seating' is another.
When I toggle crowds to 'off' for a casual round, do empty grandstands still appear, as in TGC19 ? If not, then it really doesn't hurt to put them on in the single publish, IF you don't mind investing the time, and ever want to have them available for tourneys.
If so, then you'd maybe want to do 2 versions, for folks like me who think the empty stands can be an eyesore.
Camera towers are another visual issue for me (possibly alone) when playing casual rounds, but they don't toggle on/off.
As usual, just one guy's opinion ...

I'm very much glad that the schedulers don't ask people to republish their courses with grandstands. While they can be helpful on some courses, they would look awful (whether there are spectators in them or not) on some of the more natural courses. The 3 courses on the Pro tours right now (Pastimes, Shackleford, Cobbtown) are quite natural courses and it would be a tragedy to put grandstands on them, and you could argue even crowds would look bad on them. Nobody should feel any pressure to publish a "Tour" version, and if someone asks you to and you think it would damage the integrity of your course, just don't do it.

Thanks... some good info...
I’m pressing ahead with my ‘open’ look and feel... mainly as an experiment... then perhaps I’ll rip down the stands and camera towers and see it in its natural state...
Would be nice if the crowd toggle on/off applied to all tournament objects...
