Week 7 – One for the Road
This week is the Modified Stableford format at Colonial CC (Tour) by Jeff Wildridge. This is a real Countryside theme course which has a par of 70.
Course Description:
Colonial Country Club, located in Ft. Worth, Texas is the site of the PGA Tour’s annual Charles Schwab Challenge. Founded in 1936 by businessman Marvin Leonard, the course was designed by renowned architect Perry Maxwell. Also known as Hogan’s Alley, the course has a storied history, not only playing host to the 1941 US Open, but also boasting a list of past champions with names like Hogan, Snead, Palmer and Nicklaus. The Tour Version of Colonial Country Club plays to a modest distance of 7082 yards and a par of 70, but with firm, fast conditions and a stiff Texas breeze, the course can still provide a challenge for even the most skilled players.
Best of luck to all teams in the final week.
Will The Tequila Slammers be able to celebrate holding up the championship trophy or will the Ballz come rolling along to rekk their hopes.
Signed off by Mr Fixtures.

Final week of the season next week then we have some fun end of season events organised to take us to the end of the TGCT season. Before we organise Season 7 we are just waiting to see how TGCT set up for their new season. We will no doubt be doing something pretty similar season wise. It would be helpful if anyone is considering leaving the group if they would let us know in order that we may consider recruitment. Early warning as required... I will not be returning for the new season and also will not be doing It's a Knockout... I will be taking a bit of a sabbatical due to my health not improving as much as I hoped so will only be a very casual player in the game for the foreseeable future. Sorry guys. All the best with your health, Dave. Lets see if The Chuggers can finish on a winning note for you, captain

SkyBlueBenRound 1 Pub Crawl A decent round if not for some happy horse s### on the 10th. Drive went into a deep pot bunker and for some bizarre reason, the ensuing splash wouldn't come out. No matter how hard I snapped the stock back, the club would come back in super slow mo. Two straight splashes went nowhere (VS) and fell back into the bunker. On the third try, I clubbed up and just smashed the hell out of it, I was lucky to hit the top of the flag stick. That was all that allowed me to salvage double, otherwise it would have been worse. I let the expletives fly. Other than that, not bad. 10 birds and an eagle - it was just that double that wrecked my score. R1 : -10 (60)

Only a 5 hour charter flight from Bahrain to the Maldives this week, chump change travel time for our global gawlfers of the TBC. The Bungalow Beach Golf Club, freshly minted National Treasure contest winning course, hosted this week's main event. Who will do the best? Are the Dr Marks free of tan lines? I will report on the former, really not curious at ALL on the later. The highlight match of the week again turned into a rout. Rekking Ballz won early, often and without mercy against Boozers Out of Bounds, racing out to a 7-1 lead during pairs on their way to a comfortable 18-6 victory. Captain Ken and super sub Andy both brought six packs home, while there is not enough underwire in the world to prop up the performance the BOoBs brought this week. Captain Les edged his dear pal David Herron in the final singles game to square the match between Foregasm and Bova’s Beer Chuggers at 12 a piece. Les led the Gasms with 5 points, while Johnny matched Les with 5 for the BBC. Tequila Slammers found themselves in a tough match with the Bad News Beers, knotted at 4 after pairs. But singles proved to be no bank holiday as Dave Stevenson swept his matches to lead the Slammers to a 15-9 victory. Sam Pond carded 5 points for the Slammers, while Randy came home with 4 for BNB. Disaster struck again for Rum Raiders who suffered another week of losing a player due to disqualification. This, along with solid play, enabled Beasts of Bourbon to cruise to a 18-6 win. Captain Patrick brought the brews with a six pack for BoB, while Doe’s 3 points led the Raiders. Slammers picked up half a point on the field, now top the Ballz by five and a half going into the final week. Quite a gap now between 2nd and the rest of the table, but BBC, BoB and BOoBs all have a shot at the bronze. Foregasm and BNB are close to each other, while the Rum Raiders prop up the league but are winners in the fact they now have The Queen of All Things Pixel Gawlf Carol on their squad. This weeks PROSTS!: Half Centurions: Bungalow Beach offered beautiful beach views but not a lot of low scores, no HCs this week. Team I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter: Simon’s Buccaneer Caverns saw balls heavily buttered on all fronts. Tequila Slammers did best as a team, while Slammers’ Bank and Ronny from Foregasm topped the individual efforts being the only gawlfers to shoot sub 60. Well done gents! Six Packs to Go: Ken Wise, Andy Gammons and Patrick Hannigan. Mr. Blobby: Jason Randle fell victim this week. If It Weren’t For Bad Luck: Ronny scored well (-28) but only brought home a single point. Right Place, Right Time: Dr. Bing is a practicing magician, how else do you explain bringing home 4 points while carding +1? Sorcery! Paul Matchen also got points from a +1 week, not too shabby! What will happen in the final week? Will Tequila Slammers rule the roost, or will the BBC change the programming?. Rekking Ballz are on fire, but does Captain Dan and his plucky BNBs have a spanner to throw into their plan? Can BoB continue their resurgence to claim third place or will Foregasm rain on their parade? Will adding inflames47 to the Rum Raiders' fire be enough to finish the season with a win, or will the BOoBs stop flopping around and rebound? Until then…. Onward!

I had ghost your round to get it. Never seen you play so poorly. Looked like red fasts/slows were killing you. Andy made up for it with his T4 in Beer League. Amazingly we had an XBox winner of Beer League this week. The drop off is steep though because I was 3rd on XB1 but that was only good enough for T36 overall.

Pub Crawl Round 1
-12
Sunday arvo golf and beers, sometimes life is good.
I played really well but I did leave a couple of birdie putts out there today so score couldn't been a little bit better.

Pub Crawl Round 2

Maybe I need change my mind about disliking links courses.
I'm still drinking beers but that's it for golf today. I don't want to push my luck by playing more rounds.

Pub Crawl Rounds 1 & 2Got family coming to Sunny North Devon so the routine changes a bit. Was planning to avoid the Sunday tempo Monster but had to at least knock out a few rounds to keep the schedule on track. Went out early before those pesky Yanks get up and pinch all the bandwith. Pretty straightforward links course where we're going to see a lot of low scores. Round 1 the putter and chipper were hot and made my life easy, Round 2 tempo wasn't so good and I had to work hard for the score but a couple of solid pairs rounds to give my partner Patrick phannigan something to work with....

One For The RoadPretty disappointing outing on this wonderful design from the man who loves the detail Jeff hoosierhoops24Couldn't hit a fairway or sink a putt or a chip so the result is poor. Sorry Beasts...
