I doubt many people here (particularly the European and Australian contingents) follow NHL hockey, but the expansion team starting play next year in Seattle named their team the Seattle Kraken.  I'm convinced that they did so simply to use "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" as their marketing slogan.  No word on whether or not they'll also utilize this oddly disturbing .gif....
