Hello Friends! Jim Nantz back again to bring you week 6 results from the Brew Crew’s 9th season. Will the title be wrapped up before the final week or will there be something to play for to end the season? Let’s get out to the action starting with The Americas Tour
Match 1: Liver Let Die vs Moonshine Runners
Liver Let Die come into their week 6 match with some momentum after a dominant win last week. Moonshine Runners look to keep their slim title hopes alive but they would need a dominant win to do it. Liver had ideas of playing spoiler once again as they took the opening match in the Americas. The Runners would fight back to close the day however and the teams went to day 2 tied up. Day 2 would be for the Livers as they cruised to victory in both matches to take a 6-2 lead to Tasmania.
Match 2: Foregasms vs Bourbon Bandits
Foregasms and Bandits come into the match out of the title race but deadlocked in the middle of the table. A pair of day 1 matchups that nobody seemed to want to win saw the Foregasms jump out to a 4-0 lead with two victories. The Bandits would not let the table partners off easy though as they bounced back on day 2 to level the match at 4 as they headed overseas.
Match 3: Hobgoblins vs Dirty Old Men
Hobgoblins come into the match against table-topping Dirty Old Men looking to play spoiler and keep the last week of the season interesting. They would do just that to start off the first day taking both matches in dominant fashion. Hobgoblins kept their foot on the gas to start day 2 taking the opening match. However, the Dirty Old Men would finally get on the board to close the day. As the teams board the plane to Tasmania, this one is 6-2 to the Hobgoblins.
Match 4: Brews Brothers vs Duffers Downing Doubles
Brews Brothers come into the match having securely locked up the wooden spoon looking to play spoiler for the Duffers. The Duffers needing a big week to keep pace at the top of the table and make the final week interesting. They would get the start they needed in the Americas taking both matches to open. They kept their foot down on day 2 taking both matches once again to take a commanding 8-0 lead to Tasmania.
JN: What an exciting start to the season. Let’s move overseas to the Rest of the World Tour
Match 1: Liver Let Die vs Moonshine Runners
Needing to bounce back to have any chance at the title, the Runners took the fight to the Livers in Tasmania, sweeping the day 3 matches with ease to draw the match back level. It would come down to day 4 as Liver looked to regain the momentum. Day 4 proved to be a back and forth affair as Marcus nudged Liver back out in front to start the day. Jason would pull the match back level in the second match before Randy once again put the Livers out in front. It would come down to Art and Carol to determine the result. In an epic duel it would be Carol with the 1up win to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat. This one ends all square at 10 a piece.
Match 2: Foregasms vs Bourbon Bandits
The Bandits kept up the momentum after landing in Tasmania taking both matches on day 3 to shift the pressure to Foregasms on the final day. The top players for each team would battle to a draw to put the Bandits a point away from the win. They wouldn’t have to wait long as Stevie pushed the Bandits over the finish line with a win in the second match of the day. Nigel would pull one back for Foregasms in match 3 but in a battle of the Marks, it would be the Bing over the Law to give the Bandits a wider margin of victory. Bandits take this one 13-7.
Match 3: Hobgoblins vs Dirty Old Men
Hobgoblins continued to put the pressure on overseas as they opened the third day with a decisive win. The Old Men would bounce back to win the closing match of the day to keep their hopes alive. It would come down to the final day and the Old Men would need a miracle come back to pull out the win. The hope for the win would be short lived as Charles would secure the draw for Hobgoblins to open day 4. The Old Men would storm back for the remainder of the day taking the final 3 matches to also steal a draw from the jaws of defeat. This one ends 10-10.
Match 4: Brews Brothers vs Duffers Downing Doubles
The jet lag proved to be real for the Duffers as the Brothers got on the board to open the rounds in Tasmania. However, the Duffers returned to form in the second match to put themselves on the brink of victory heading into the third day. The Brothers’ hopes of a draw would be short lived however as Chris quickly ended any hopes of that comeback by winning the opening match of the day. The Brothers would take 2 out of the final 3 to make the final score a little closer but this one was all Duffers, 14-6.
Team Scoreboard
Liver Let Die 10 vs 10 Moonshine Runners
Foregasms 7 vs 13 Bourbon Bandits
