Wutpa Art VandelayROW Poor week, not much else to say on the matter. Hoping to redeem myself in OFTR later.

Art Vandelay WutpaPub crawl rounds 3 & 4 ROW tour + OFTR Got pretty much zero motivation to play this game these days, 3 perfects over 3 rounds (yes i do count as they're as rare as hens teeth) does not equate to fun for me. Putting seems to be the only thing that keeps my scores reasonably respectable and made a few long ones here. Anyway here's the damage. Round 3. Round 4 Never really a threat Ross asyoudo64OFTR. Slow start before the putts started to drop.

Still pretty good rounds despite your issues Dave, I get very few perfects on Xbox on any of my rounds I play most of my shots with a slight fast and it’s my putting that usually improves my rounds. Hang on mate we’re all experiencing the same tedium of playing this game past it’s sell by date.

My stock shot with all clubs used to be 101 or 102 per cent. Now I really consciously have to try to swing down much earlier or I get anywhere from 104 to 110 per cent, the latter being with the driver.

OFTR.
By and large, I managed to cope with a slow tempo; but, as usual, it was the putter that stopped a good round from being a great round. I guess I'll take it, though, given how badly I usually play in OFTR rounds.

You guys struggling with the 100+ % swings. Try taking a tip from the book of Tim.
Last few months I will try and club up, take my back swing and hold at the top. It's dependant of wind and elevation but after some experimenting with it you will get a feel for it. The hold at the top produces a less then 100 swing. As low as 95%. Thats where the club up comes into play. I find the outcome is more controlled as a 100+ the mishits are amplified. I've got it down now to where I can dial in a between 95 and 100 per cent.
It's an all feel thing and takes some time getting used to. But I try and execute these shots as much as possible now. Sometimes you need to go full power as wind, elevation and such leaves you in a in between area. Take too much off, come up way short. I try and do this on approaches and even drives now depending. CC the fairways are 500 yards wide so you can afford a miss hit.
Example shot
97%

Example shot 97% I'm aware of the hold technique, and I'll sometimes use it for a flop or a chip, but I can never trust it for a full shot. You make a good point, though, mate.

Nearly all of my shots are 101% power especially the driver I’m guessing about 95% “95% of the time give 101% of the time” - Les “Yogi” Sangster, who also said, “Cut the pizza into four pieces ‘cause I’m not hungry enough to eat six.”

Don't think I have had any except on chip shots since this version of the game arrived, more often than not I'm the same as Les a slight fast and when I get that a Master difficulty, about 80% of the time, I may have a chance at a birdie, the rest of the time with big slows and very fasts I am lucky to scramble for a Par. When playing Legend difficulty my slight fast percentage goes up to 85% the big slows disappear, but I do get the occassional slow, the very fasts more or less go, but I do get a big fast now and then, though my putting is still well below par at either difficulty and probably why I prefer sim instead of grids as I don't look so silly missing putts on sim as I do on grids.

Sidebar if I may: you are a mouser, as I ana few others here. Does your cadence differ between Master and Legend? In other words, does your mouse movement change at all between the two difficulties? When I did dabble with Legend I found myself changing just a bit, a more condensed swing (if that makes sense). Onward.

The good thing for me with the slight fasts is that my swing technique is from 7 to 12 so I get a slight push on my swing plane and the fast brings it back. I play for a draw on my shots and usually get it, it’s a technique I’ve worked on for a while and it’s enabling me to play this game once a week and still shoot reasonable scores for me with so little game time.

Dave I too get most of my perfects on chip shots, I try and play them with a similar tempo to a putt. I place my marker at the same distance as the hole but allowing for break if I play from the initial marker position I get a fast tempo which I don’t want.
