Hello Friends! Jim Nantz here to bring you results from week 2 of Season 9 of The Brew Crew. The Foregasms looked to continue their fast start with others close behind. Let’s get out to the action starting with The Americas Tour
Match 1: Liver Let Die vs ForegasmsLiver Let Die looked to bounce back off their opening week performance but found themselves up against the early front runners Foregasms. A quick start for Liver in the Great White North gave them 3 points on the opening day and they kept that margin in place on Day 2, securing a split to take a 5-3 lead over to Germany.
Match 2: Brews Brothers vs HobgoblinsHobgoblins looked to right the ship after a disappointing opening week. Their opponents Brews Brothers were also looking to get back on track after their own week 1 thrashing. Hobgoblins set the tone early with a dominant sweep of the day 1 matches. Brothers would bounce back to open the second day in Canada but the momentum would be short lived. Hobgoblins would take the second match of the day to take a four point lead overseas.
Match 3: Moonshine Runners vs Dirty Old MenThe second place Runners looked to keep up the week 1 momentum and make up some ground in Canada against middle of the table Dirty Old Men. Old Men would come out swinging though taking the opening match of day 1. A quick bounce back by the runners kept them in it heading into day 2. Their momentum would be short lived however as the Old Men flexed their remaining muscles with a sweep of day 2 to take a four point lead to Germany.
Match 4: Bourbon Bandits vs Duffers Downing DoublesThe Bandits and Duffers came into week 2 near the top of the table but chasing the leaders. This one was all Duffers here in Canada as they swept the opening day. While the Bandits managed a point to open day 2, the Duffers regained the momentum to take a commanding 7-1 lead overseas to Germany.
JN: Let’s move overseas to the Rest of the World Tour
Match 1: Liver Let Die vs ForegasmsThe trip to the Black Forest did little to slow Liver Let Die’s momentum as Foregasms struggled to get back into the match. A pair of narrow better ball victories put Liver on the brink of victory heading into the final day. An opening match victory by Ross kept Foregasms faint hopes alive. The hopes were dashed in the second match of the day as Chuck sealed the deal in dominant fashion to give Liver the win. A split of the final two matches would make the final in this one 13-7 Liver Let Die
Match 2: Brews Brothers vs HobgoblinsHobgoblins continued to put the pressure on in Germany taking the opening match of day 3 to put themselves on the brink of victory. However a valiant better ball effort by Paraic and Michael would keep Brothers hopes alive. Hobgoblins would have none of letting their opponents stick around on day 4 as they dominated the opening 3 matches to put Brothers out of their misery. Michael would get a win in the final match but this one was all Hobgoblins 14-6
Match 3: Moonshine Runners vs Dirty Old MenDirty Old Men continue to flex upon their arrival in the Black Forest with a day 3 sweep of the action securing the guaranteed draw as a result. The Runners unsure of where to turn needed a miracle on day 4 but they wouldn’t get it as an opening match draw between Alan and David gave the Old Men the point they needed to secure the win. The Runners would add a couple more matches for good measure but this one goes to the Dirty Old Men 13-7
Match 4: Bourbon Bandits vs Duffers Downing DoublesThe onslaught continued after the teams landed in Germany with the Duffers continuing to pour it on. A sweep of the third day locked up the win for the Duffers heading into the final day. A split of the final day would make the Bandits appear closer than it was but it was still a blowout in favor of the Duffers, 15-5.
