Hello Friends, Jim Nance here once again to bring you the action from week 3 of the Brew Crew season. After last week’s shake up at the top of the leaderboard this is proving to be quite the unpredictable season. Will a dominant squad emerge? We will have to see. This week the Crew headed to Greenmont CC for the Grantland Invitational. A course that provided a stiff challenge for the golfers. Let’s get to the action shall we? *Match lines provided by BINGBet* Blame it on the Goose (-3.5) v Dickens Cider Casuals Blame it on the Goose looks to keep pace at the top of the table this week in a matchup against the Casuals who are still seeking their first win in 2 seasons. Goose jumped all over them however taking 3 of 4 points on the opening day to jump in front early. Goose extended the lead on day 2 taking both matches. A day 3 split kept the door open for a Casual comeback however they were unable to fully materialize that as Goose took the opening two matches to secure the match early on day 4. A couple of garbage time wins for the Casuals made the score closer than the match seemed as Goose took the match with ease The Cupid Stunts (-0.5) v Rum Raiders A matchup that was destined to be tight as twice drawn Stunts looked to take on the Raiders with each team looking for their first win of the new season. As one might expect, the match remained close with each pair drawing matches to open. A third consecutive draw opened day 2 before the Stunts edged ahead with an afternoon victory. The Raiders rebounded quickly as this back and forth match continued taking the opening match on day 3 before the second pairing of the day once again drew. With the teams all tied heading into day 4 it was truly anyone’s match. The Raiders would take the slight lead after the opening match and a draw in the second of the day. Paul would retie the match with a matchup 3 win so it would come down to the final match. David would come through in the clutch taking down Mark in the final match to give the Raiders their first victory of the season. Bear Necessities (-3.5) v Hobgoblins Bear Necessities were flying high coming off their blowout victory last week looking to keep up the momentum against the Hobgoblins who were looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss last week. The Hobgoblins came to play this week as they took the opening match. Necessities was able to secure the day 1 split with a win in match 2. Day 2 proved to be more of the same as the teams split both matches. The back and forth continued on Day 3 as the teams once again split the matches. And as a surprise to nobody, the teams remained deadlocked across day 4 with each team taking 2 matches to secure the draw. Bourbon Bandits (-1.5) v Menace to Sobriety Bandits were looking to get in the win column for the first time this season while maintaining their unbeaten run across two seasons. In their way stand Menace who were looking to bounce back from their crushing defeat last week. The match would prove to be a close one as the teams split the opening two days to head into day 3 tied on the scoreboard. The Bandits just edged ahead on day 3 taking a draw in the opening match and taking the second outright. The Bandits did just enough to keep their narrow lead as the teams split the day 4 matches. Team Scoreboard: Blame it on the Goose (-3.5) 13 v 7 Dickens Cider Casuals The Cupid Stunts (-0.5) 9 v 11 Rum Raiders Bear Necessities (-3.5) 10 v 10 Hobgoblins Bourbon Bandits (-1.5) 11 v 9 Menace to Sobriety Now, let have a look at our Next Gen Stats powered by AWS: The Semi-Centennial Club -Ross Nixon (-53) -Kevin Everhard (-52) Highest Team Score -Bear Necessities (-146) Top Individual -Ross Nixon (-53) -Kevin Everhard (-52) -Chris Grzesik (-49) Low Individual Round R1 - Paul Davies (-14) R2 - Kevin Everhard (-14) R3 - Kevin Everhard (-18) R4 - Ross Nixon (-17) Team Points Leaders (8) -Michael Bonocore -Kevin Everhard Better Luck Next Week Blob Award -Leon Anderson -Ken Lokosky OFTR Highest Scorer -Ross Nixon (39) -Charles Lindbergh, Mark Buenger (31) -Sean Prowse (26) Onward!

Pub CrawlArt VandelayThe slump continued in the first round but then all of a sudden Lady Luck decided to give me a cuddle and the bounces started going in my favour. Funny old game. Still managed some atrocious putting at times but I'll always take breaking the 40 barrier. In other news the Super Sky Blues walloped our local rivals Sunderland (look up Jimmy Hill!!) in their own back yard so that kicked off Christmas with a bang!! Time to step away for a bit of family time so will have one for the road after the festivities. Hoping you all have a wonderful Christmas but as most of you have been naughty at times during the year don't expect too much in Santa's sack!! Eat, drink and be merry.
