Tug Trawl. This is my first week ever playing CC when I didn't have to, if you see what I mean. I've already missed the cut in my first week in Kinetic, and am starting to look back at the Challenge Circuit wistfully. Not that my scores were anything to write home (or here) about. Round 3 is where I was bitten the hardest, smacking two in the water on #11. It made me angry, but more at myself than the course. I can't say I'm a fan of this course, but not so much because of the water danger as the fairway danger. I can get a little irked by courses (and there's a ton of them) where a good-looking drive that hits the middle of the fairway could still end up in the rough, sand or water because of all the lumps, bumps, slopes and hillocks that the ball can bounce on. But, as others have pointed out, intelligent shot choices as part of thoughtful shot management is the key to success, and I get that. Therein lies my problem - as far as intelligent play is concerned, I'm a moron. Here's my R4 card: Art Vandelay

CC rounds 1 and 2.
Round 1 was -- shall we say? -- interesting, to say the least. Warm-up rounds were perfect tempo; this one was not. I had two drivers along the ground, and more 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock swings than I've had for a very long time.
Round 2 was fine tempo-wise, so no complaints on that front. Why the difference between the two?

I am extremely consistent in one area - inconsistency.
R1: -1 (4 birdies, 3 bogeys)
R2: -12 (with a bogey on 18 to ruin an otherwise excellent round)

A little less than 9 hours to the cut time (making it in F again, have an outside chance at picking up my second greenie) and we need onesies and/or twosies from: Tombanator (extension noted) and IGolfBadOnward!

Cub Prawl Round 1 at The Montecristo Club At last a course worthy of the Challenge Circuit, as in I challenge you not to roll your approaches and putts into the water. Reading this week’s reports had me frightened beyond reproach, but I saw my head to head opponent was Art’s new sergeant at arms Stevie Surgeon ss11, who strikes fear into the heart of sturgeons and certainly isn’t a burgeoning TBC vurgeon [sic - get used to it, Stevie] To minimize the damage and nail the first round win for the Casuals, all I had to do was tie Stewie’s [sic - told you…] score and fruit would be borne. (Bears bearing fruit. Come on, folks, comedy is hard.) By keeping the double bogeys at bay and sneaking in just enough birds to keep it honest, I managed to bear those fruits, Art Vandelay. Rd 1: +2 Onward Casuals!

Club Prawn Round 2 or Stevie Don’t Lose That Number For the middle 12 holes of this round, it was apparent that Steamy ss11 put a curse on my putter, as for 7 consecutive, I couldn’t buy a bird if I was in a bird shop. And then for four of the next five, couldn’t buy a par. But then I remembered I was playing Art’s Art Vandelay team and realized that while Sobriety was being Menaced, in the end nothing beats a good Dickens Cider. Rd 2: +1

Obvious Failure To Reconcile. After scoring 20+ points for the last two weeks, it was down to earth with a face plant this time. I was trying to treat the course with respect, especially given the vast swathes of out of bounds that lined every hole, but the respect wasn't mutual and the 15th saw me repeatedly slapped. I think I limped home with a decidedly underwhelming 11 points. Normal transmission resumed. Art Vandelay

Art Vandelay Pub Crawl with a demoralizing ending. I have completely lost my way. Haven't a clue how to play this game. Sorry M2S, your leader has let you down. Round 3 even. Round 4 even worse. Onward.

Onward. This is the kind of course that finds cracks in your game, and then turns them into fissures. I have faith in you, mighty leader! Next week will be better, and your game will be back where you left it.

I can’t wait for this season to be over so I can be relegated back to the dungeon of Tier 4 where I rightfully belong. Fun fact. I shot 7 strokes better on Kinetic this week than I did on CC. Finally, a challenging course! ( or I just suck) arthurvandelay Round 4 Another banger OFTR desert course!!!
