Week 7 Ken Lokosky Round 4 card So sorry. Didn’t play good enough across the board. It has been a pleasure to be your teammate this season. Look forward to next. Good luck Art Vandelay

Puppy looking less than impressed that I’ve spent £50 on a new shirt rather than stocking up on dog treats and toys!!

Finishing up the season.
Less said about the CC rounds the better.
Then the OFTR round happened. Violinguy69 I love this course so much!
I started off hitting it close but missing easy birdie putts; I left a dead-straight 20-footer way short on the 1st. I decided to try altering my putting method a little on the 4th green and then birdied four of the next six holes to reach the turn at -4. Nothing spectacular, but it was a mile better than the previous two rounds this morning. I figured it was an improvement that I wasn't spraying it all over the place and missing every putt I looked at.
Then I hit the back nine and was -6 for the next five holes, so -10 through 14. I could see on the in-game HUD that I was in 2nd spot. I never look at the actual scoreboard until the round is over. Made a good save on the 15th after a bad tempo from the tee.
Then I hit it to 6 feet for birdie on 16, three-putted and walked off with a bogey, smoke coming out of my ears.
I heard one of the marshalls muttering something about, "Nice three-jiggle, dumbass." I'm not proud of my actions, but here's some footage taken by one of the spectators:
The dreaded "You're only 4 shots behind the leader" then popped up, and I didn't fancy my chances.
Hit it close on 17 and made eagle. I'm two behind as I stand on the last tee. Driveable par 4. You have to go for it, Bear. Come on, son. Decided to deloft driver and hope for the best.
The ball came off like a rocket, heading straight for the pin. The only problem was I'd delofted it too much, way too much. I was ready to punch something as it descended towards the water. Then a miracle happened!
Instead of going in the water, the ball smashed into the base of the rocks, bounced a mile in the air and settled in the deep rough 20 yards past the green. Unfortunately, I took three to get down and made par despite having around a 5-yard chip for birdie. I think getting it up and down from back there would have been as much of a miracle as my ball not swimming with the fishes.
As annoyed as I am about the three-putt on 16, it was so good to feel the rush again. I felt the adrenaline on the back 9, something that I haven't had in months. I might have found a little something with my putting stroke during this round which means the putt is actually registering first or second time rather than ten or more. I needed this round. Shooting -11 used to be an average/poor round for me, but this feels like an achievement after how badly I've been struggling. Is the Bear back? Well, I don't know. I hope so, but only time will tell.
A big thank you to my team -- and everyone else, for that matter -- for putting up with me; and also to all those responsible for the running of TBC, without whom none of this could be possible.

Sponsor is what I call myself on my bad putting days. To be honest it’s the owner’s brother’s company. Mates rates I reckon. Had a big betting company last season but new owner is anti betting sponsorship.

The Football League is sponsored by Sky Bet. He’s not even making a dent. I’m pretty ambivalent to betting sponsorship. Can’t see having a name on the front of a shirt encourages you to bet. Any more than having King of Shaves encourages me to shave 🤣

Art VandelayPub Rd 4 I wanted to finish the season’s final round on a good note. I played with mostly slows on my approaches but was still in decent range for the birds. I had two bad putts that cost me double digits. But overall happy with the round. I just wanted to say we had a good season with my team the Hobgoblins. We had a slow start and made up some ground in the middle but As You Brew were just too tough as they ran a way with it! Nice win for As You Brew! And always ready for the off season events with the LatEx Cup and the popular RUMble to the Bar! For me the new season will be busy with TBC, Stableford NFL and now Hockey. I’m also in Rub of Green society as Oober does a great job with his weekly spreadsheet and the popular WeekEnd Open tournament. If you like the golf get in Oober’s Rub of the Green society. He has nice courses but the conditions are turned up! He is in discord with all of his spreadsheets.
