Hello Golfers,
Welcome to another week of pixel golf in the Brew Crew.
Week 6 of the Pub Crawl Season takes us to National Golf Links of America (L), a real Delta theme course with a par of 72 which was created by Elliott Erwitt.
Course Description:
First opened for play in 1911, National Golf Links of America was CB Macdonald's lifelong project and is widely considered to be his crowning achievement. This strategic masterpiece presents players of every ability level with several tactical options on nearly every hole, expertly balancing risk, and reward. The fabulous out-and-back routing and marvelous (often wild) green complexes combine to ensure that a change in wind direction and pin placement will drastically alter the hole-to-hole strategy. This course is infinitely replayable. Tee and pin locations were verified from firsthand knowledge of the course as well as satellite imagery, resulting in an experience that is as close as possible to the real thing. New tee locations were added on #1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 to accommodate longer hitters. For an authentic experience, play from the blue, green, or red tees and use a driver with a carry of 270 yards or less. Be sure to set the wind to high before you start!

Week 6 – One for the Road
Week 6 of the season is the Modified Stableford format which takes us to Okeechobee National G.C., a fictional Countryside theme course with a par of 72 which was created by Austin Bynum.
Course Description:
Okeechobee National is a course that winds its way thru the Florida Everglades and surrounding areas. Okeechobee translates to “river of grass” in Seminole Indian and that’s what this course does. It winds, flows, and meanders thru the plot following the surrounding Everglades marsh areas. The fairways have some slopes that are subtle to the eye but present some awkward lies on approach shots. The greens utilize slopes to help feed the ball into pins, and away from others but there’s also some really subtle breaks around some pins and it’s not uncommon to see a double breaking putt.
No real life course this week as we are playing one in CC land this event.
Good luck to all teams.
