Pub Crawl Week 6 Art Vandelay Couldn't resist playing on. Was looking like a bad decision halfway through Round 3,  fortunately scrambled home for my worst Round of the week. Eagle on the last helped 😅. Apologies Paul have matched your great score with my average one. Hopefully we've done enough. Of course I kept going. Finished the week with another great round. Best CC week ever. Sorry Sean, I think I may have got the points in our Matchplay. Anyway, good luck to everyone for the rest of the week. Will leave OFTR till tomorrow.....Maybe 🤣. I just don't get this game. I played all afternoon to get warmed up, and each society tournament I played in had different tempo. I'm used to driver tempo being different to irons, but this time they were one and the same. I just don't get it.
Decided to only play OFTR. I was actually at Glen Abbey in 1994, the year Nick Price won, as I have family not all that far away. I was still learning how to play at that time. I'll never forget Davis Love III smashing a wooden driver miles past 300 yards -- I remember thinking I'd never seen a ball fly like that -- but, more importantly, I will never forget watching the late and great Payne Stewart on the practice range. There were fireworks happening on the course; but I couldn't tear myself away from watching Payne and his beautiful golf swing, which I always tried to copy in my own game. I did watch Nick Price play the back 9 in the final round, though, making a perfect eagle on 16, I think it was. At my best, I played off 5 -- and that was about 20 years ago -- but I remember thinking that my best ever ball striking was a 1 compared to his 100. They really are that good.
I was very disappointed, therefore, to have played poorly round Glen Abbey. It is what it is, though. I will lick my wounds and, hopefully, come out fighting on Wednesday afternoon to play my first two CC rounds.
Hmmm. I can see the polar bear has got involved for some reason. That might be because I have finally gone with a dual-monitor set-up. After around 25 years of PC gaming, maybe I've eventually turned into a "proper" gamer. Watch this space  See if you can take a screenshot of only one screen Bear, this image is kinda small for my old tired eyes. I scored it fine for OFTR but for matchplay it would be harder to see. |

Only thing I am disappointed with, is that he didn't get a visit from Jessica. What a round though!

Martin's putting was on another level compared to mine and I felt this was the main difference. Very much enjoyed it - well played Martin! All the best going forward. Sean, thanks for running this - it's probably my favourite Brew Crew competition.

Unbeatable. Last time I looked he was leading PC after 4 rounds ahead of some very good players. |

God I was pissed this morning after the last round. Started with 5 consecutive birdies, and then my game went in shamble to end up, six bogeys later (and thanksfully a few birdies), at -1. I would rather had one very bad hole than six poor ones ... it's a bit the state of my game, with this incredible lack of consistency, which is allowing me sometime to play very decently and some other time just terribly. Is there a wolverine-type mouse I could buy to be more consistent, my fellow mouse-pusher ?
