Hello All,
Welcome to another massive week of pixel golf in the Brew Crew.
Week 5 of the Pub Crawl season takes us to Rec Yard, a fictional Delta theme course with a par of 72 which was created by Nicholas Freter.
Course Description:
Recreation Yard is my entry into the 2022 WCOD. I'll just copy over the fictional back story, but 2 sets of tees, measuring the same yardage to vary play. Avoid, White (E, SE, NE winds) and Black (SW, S, W winds) as those make a couple long 4s play really long. Greens can play 187 but default to 179 (I think) ...anyway.... Welcome to the "Recreation Yard". Originally the island served as a place for punishment. Out of line inmates, were shipped to the island and forced to dig the sand quarries by hand or shovel. This all changed when warden G.E.P. Strantz took over. Strantz believed in rewarding the good not punishing the bad. So, with the help of the inmates, he designed and built the Recreation Yard. The prison has since closed, and staff quarters converted into visitor lodging. I hope you enjoy....

Week 5 – One for the Road
Week 5 of the season is the Modified Stableford format which takes us to Bayou Aux Carpe, a fictional Boreal theme course with a par of 72 which was created by Eric Perego.
Course Description:
Welcome to the Bayou Aux Carpe a fictional course somewhere in the Bayou of South Louisiana. Plenty of water and a few gators but shouldn’t be too difficult for the average player. This par 72 isn’t too long at just over 7,000 yards but be sure to give yourself the best angle into the green for a better chance to make birdie.
Golf quote of the week:
“Keep your sense of humor. There’s enough stress in the rest of your life not to let bad shots ruin a game you’re supposed to enjoy.” -Amy Alcott.
Good fortune to all teams.
Signed off by Mr Fixtures.

My condolences go out to The Crown Royals. Your team had a worse week than us Hustlers.

Art Vandelay SkyBlueBen R1 -11 I'm expecting to be tight for time later in the week so trying to get a few rounds out of the way earlier than usual. So far it is working out OK. I left a few out there but still happy with this one.

Art Vandelay SkyBlueBen R2 -11 Started well then the wheels fell off on holes 3 to 5 before getting it together again. Probably the best start I've had this season. I know it is very early but happy to be in the #2 spot on XBox at the moment.

SkyBlueBen (cause we won't trouble Art in his vacations!?) I started with the dessert this week in OFTR. So hole #1, I started my day with a 98% very slow drive into the swamp on the left. Not satisfied by that, I dropped into the deep rough at more than 400y of the pin... at this point I could hear Robert Downey Jr telling me "you just went full retard man. Never go full retard"

After a week off from the reporter's chair, I am back in the saddle and ready to go. In the world of Pixel golf news, 2K seem to have (at the time writing), released a successful update. With the introduction of ranked play albeit only pro swing and crossplay minus societies, small little fixes can be seen. It is almost like they might be worried about an upcoming release… Pabst were taking on the Hustlers this week. Even with a new alias Eric was unable to get off to a winning start, purely because of an outstanding opening round from Pen Knight. Pabst did however did go on to take advantage on day 1 with Trevor and CF taking the win with Darren and Paul from the Hustlers struggling to get off the mark. More of an equal affair in day 2 with both teams taking a win. Pabst looked to rske control again and that they did. Clean sweep for day 3 and day 4 apart from an unusual lose by Eric his singles. Overall though a comfortable win for Pabst. Both captains were looking forward to the next match up, Ben’s Raiders were up against Mark’s Makers. Rivalry was fierce and both gave as good as they could in the lead up to this one. It was however Ben and the Raiders who dominated this fixture. With only Thomas and Art picking up points in day 2 for the Makers, the rest of the week can be classed as Raider Maker bashing. . Cupid Stunts and the Bombers up next. Stunts were coming off a nice victory last week but bottom feeders Bombers were in hope for a little push back up the table. Things didn’t go as planned to begin with for the Bombers as Jason and Ken disposed of Sean and Ken in the opening round. This however seemed to be the kick up the ass that the Bombers needed. Randy and Jason went to work over the next couple of days with convincing wins and Sean and Ken followed suit to ensure the Stunts had no further victories in the double match ups. Sadly the misery continued. Jason took his singles tie against Randy but this was the only points they could muster on singles day. We couldn’t have a week without a good cat and mouse match. Bandits and As you Brew went left hook right hook on each over the opening days resulting in equal points after 2 days. This continued throughout the third day, nothing between them. This tie was going to come down to individual performances on the final day. 3-1 to the Bandits on the final day with only Chuck managing to take a win for As You Brew. Close matchups in all but ultimately the Bandits outshone to take the win. Crown Royals have had some hard luck so far this season but even with luck on their side there was nothing that could have prevented the onslaught of the Hobgoblins this week. Team dynamics could have been a negative factor for the Hobgoblins this week, but both Ernie and Scott slotted into their roles seamlessly. In homage to their Captain, Hobgoblins came and delivered a clean sweep. Bravo. Pabst 15 vs 5 Hustlers Raiders 18 vs 2 Makers Stunts 15 vs 5 Bombers Bandits 12 vs 8 As You Brew Hobgoblins 20 vs 0 Royals. 50+ Club

The Brew Crew Real Ale
Courses for next week New South Wales GC LiDAR
Initially Dr Alister MacKenzie designed New South Wales in 1926. MacKenzie was responsible for probably the most famed cliff-top ocean course in all of world golf – Cypress Point in the USA – two years after he created the layout here at La Perouse. The NSW course overlooks Botany Bay, where Captain James Cook first sailed into Australia in 1770. The course was built some 150 years later with the assistance of another famous architect, Eric Apperly, who was largely responsible for the bunkering and ensuring that MacKenzie's vision became a reality. RCR designer Gareth Irvine Heisenberg Ardglass-N. Ireland
It is, quite simply, one of the most spectacular courses on the coastline of Ireland, with dramatic elevation changes that offer stunning views of the Irish Sea from every hole as they wind their way from the clubhouse out along the cliffs to a craggy headland then back again. Ardglass Golf Club, is also home of the world's oldest clubhouse dating back to 1405AD RCR Designer Jay Johnson jayjohnson7 Wylihof Switzerland Lidar
Golfclub Wylihof is a private club. It is the longest golf course in Switzerland with a distance of 6595 meters. Designed by Kurt Rossknecht, the route runs along the Aare, just north of the village of Luterbach. The Wylihof golf course is generally ranked among the best Swiss golf courses. It is very well maintained and very picturesque. On the other side of the river, to the north and west, lightly wooded slopes rise up to clear summits, which mark the beginning of the Jura.
