I see some chatter about the greens being tricky on English Turn, but I didn't really share the same sediment....now Poppy Hills is a VERY different story...I couldn't make a putt to save my life. Maybe it was the ocean breeze pushing my ball just off the edges...or maybe it was the harsh yellow breaks near the cup....either way, I am not going to be failing any drug tests by eating poppy seeds like Elaine Benes did, as this week, Poppy ate ME for lunch. +3 SkyBlueBen P.S. Between the two courses above and this week's true sim course, I want to give a shoutout to BaconJunkie1 . Each one left me incredibly impressed at the level of detail and fair/fun combination...except I did have fantasies of strangling him with a piece of his own bacon when I was on those Poppy Greens. Here is a bouquet of bacon to apologize for the evil thoughts....great work BaconJunkie1 LOL Happy Birthday Mark IGolfBad

Thanks SkyBlueBen! Look at that! I don't have a lot to be proud of these days, so this might be the apex of my year.

There’s no switching tiers this season Marky Mark. You are tier 3 and you’ll have to man up and reclaim your game. Where’s the Mark that was tearing things up a few weeks back? Well, it happens to be all about my turning 60 today. End of shameless self-promotion.

CC round 4 and total.
I'm not going to run a commentary on my rounds as I did last time for fear of offending, but I'd just like to say the following: it should matter not one jot what some of you think of my own opinion of my rounds. I know what I'm capable of, and I know when game/server issues are destroying my scores. Furthermore, I couldn't give a monkey's what all of you score in relation to my scores and you shouldn't in relation to mine. What I mean by that is that I don't play against any of your scores; I play against myself and the course. Don't get me wrong; I am delighted when people shoot great scores. One thing I think we can agree on is that this game, with all the fittings etc, has narrowed the playing field. There are many more players now that are shooting scores much nearer to what is considered to be the A list scores, and I think that's brilliant for Brew Crew and for the competition. Off the top of my head, lessangster and SkyBlueBen are now playing a million times better, especially after changing controllers; and that makes me so very happy. However, I play solely against the course and my own capabilities.
So, when I post that I played like a monkey and have shot better scores than you, that is not in any way in an effort to denigrate you; it's just my frustration with my inability to score, whether that's down to me or the servers. When horusphoenix posted that he was thinking of trying the Wolverine, you have to understand that, as far as I'm concerned, he's probably the most humble player I've come across in this game.
I hope at least some of that made sense.
Right. All that said, score on the doors:
In case anyone was in any doubt, you guys are the best and I love being in the Brew Crew. I wouldn't have bothered typing all that out if I didn't.

Oh yeah, I totally get it. I think I posted last week about how some of these disappointing scores from the good golfers really rub salt in the wounds of us hackers, and I hope you and everyone else knows that was very tongue in cheek. I rarely say anything serious, and I pride myself on being a hacker. I think, especially in golf, self-deprecating humor is always funnier, so I am constantly making fun of myself for my crappy golf game. I am always sharing missed easy putt Instagram memes with my golf buddies after I three putt on 18 from 10 feet to lose a bunch of skins...which happens at least once a week in the summer. That 18th green kills me. As for being disappointed with a good score, for the first time in my 2k23 career, I actually know what that feels like. Two weeks ago, a -24 for a CC event was beyond unimaginable to me. Hell, I would have been happy shooting under par! Yet, that's exactly what I shot this week, yet, instead of just being happy about it (which, don't get me wrong, I am) I keep replaying the missed opportunities that I shouldn't have missed. You are right, there comes a point where you feel confident enough in your game that you are only playing against yourself and the course, and despite how good it looks on paper, you know it wasn't as good as you actually are capable of. So with that said, I say you should always bring your honest commentary. I can't even explain how much I have learned from the posts in The Brew Crew and by watching the good golfers on Twitch. I would still be shooting consistently well over par if it wasn't for other people showing me the way and posting their honest opinions of their rounds. In regards to my weekly skins matches with my buddies, I will be getting a LOT of use out of my favorite Christmas gift this year.

Art Vandelay says his RDRII game is on point!!! Art and I go back a few years, we used to knock the ball around on Tiger Woods '04 at coursedownloads.com/ and he managed a team on my fantasy football league.

TimBWell Red Dead didn’t last long on my HDD. Couldn’t get the bloody ridiculous Rockstar Launcher to do the one job it had and actually launch the game so with my usual patience I slammed in my refund request pretty sharpish!! Now got £23 in my steam wallet burning a hole in my pocket 🤣

So I was trying today to clean up a bit my fittings, and decided to see if I could improve a bit some of the one I have. As I am generally happy with my current set up, the idea was to exchange 3 orange fittings to get one new orange similar to the ones I have currently installed, hoping the rng gods will grace me with better secondary attributes. So I decided to try to get an iron grip with primary attribute timing, as my current timing figure on the iron is 98, which is a bit high. First try gave me a lie fitting, second try another lie fitting, and third try it gave me a transition fitting. On three times, it did not give me the primary attribute I selected ... It's the first time I notice that, as as far I remember, it used to work and I was getting before fittings with the primary attributes selected. Have you guys noticed that ? I have noticed a few times when I swapped out legendary fittings it gave me something different than I asked for but I think the attributes had a large positive in what I wanted. Anyways, I change fittings and archetype like the wind lol. Constantly moving back and forth from Powerhouse to Sculptor and over to Rhythm. I'm convinced that none of it really matters. The only thing that matters is me focusing and hitting the ball straight and near perfect or perfects. I seem to be able to get the same results with 55 timing or 98 timing but it isn't hard for me to lose tempo at any given point in a round. Small Sample Size and I am still in an ongoing testing phase.

Speaking of table setting... RUMble tables are set for the dash! Here is how things look in the divisions heading into week 2: DIV 1Mark horusphoenix takes a 2 point lead as he is yet to drop a game, closely followed by 5 others within 3 points. Is that our favorite space villain Charlie deathstar on the precipice of relegation? DIV 2No draws here and evenly split between the haves ( asyoudo64 jg24kl coggin66 Loftyando) and have nots ( crushtastic lessangster xxdannyxxo Violinguy69). Promotion and relegation to murky to call. DIV 3A Croc Crazy Croc and a Frog tomsenec walk into a bar and run the joint, will separation be made in week 2 round 1? Gordy gordyberry and The Banker dave69 have some ground to make up if they wish to avoid a drop down. DIV 4The Killer B's (Ben SkyBlueBen Bill billybudd0623 and Buzz jjbuzzotta) are dominating, but only two get to move up. Darren bubbsboy100. and Mark L IGolfBad seem destined to drop down, can week two save their cans? DIV 5Newcomer Michael Bogey Bonocore brings his Wolverine sponsored bags of sand in to top the table with Sweet Singing (and Swinging) Pete bogeyman but there are several gawlfers within striking distance, including another newbie Pen Pen Knight who has let it be known he has his sights set on taking down Wolvey Boy. All this leave our RUMble founder Paul sid snott sitting in his corner of the cellar clutching to the Wooden Spoon. He has a fine collection of these, will anyone pry this one from his iron-claw Kung Fu grip? Week 2 is where the magic happens. Think you are out of it? THAT is what the round 4 DASH is for. Onward!
