At school I was part of a Table Tennis team and goalkeeper in the 5 a side team. I have a picture somewhere but can’t find it at the minute. Edit: I did find this me and my dad with our first golf trophy, I was always a fashionable kid 🤣 Forget about RUMble...this week's competition should be about who had the shaggiest mop on their head in their teens. These are some fantastic, flowing manes gentlemen! The only one I can find of me on short notice is this one. I was born in '79, so this was taken sometime in the early 80s. Not nearly as impressive, but luckily, thanks to my grandfather's genes, I am happy to report my hair hasn't changed since. I can't remember if I had an Atari 2600 (I think I did) but I know my first real experience with gaming came with the original Nintendo 8-bit. But I was always more of an outdoor kid, raising a ruckus with my friends on my dirt bike until the sun went down. I do feel bad for these kids today...life was so much more simple without computers, video games and Netflix. Although, they are lucky they never have to pull off the James Bond-like exploits I had to in order to steal my mom's Sears catalog to get a glimpse of a bra. When we did finally make our way inside after dark, my brother and I would play Electric Football until my tiny Italian mother would yell at us in her heavy south Philadelphia accent to 'shut that damn noise up and go to bed!' If you didn't have the pleasure of playing electric football, you essentially plugged it in (which would briefly dim the lights...this thing was mega fire hazard), and the players would shake around the field, with no rhyme or reason to where they would go (kind of like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense.) It made no sense, but damn if it wasn't fun as hell and was louder than a jumbo jet taking off. Oh I had one of those football games. Mine had the little tiny sponge football and as a kid could not figure out on how to pass the damn thing. But those were the days…

RUMble in the Jungle, round 2 against the ever impregnable Art Vandelay . I have been dreading this matchup for days, staring at that imposing -7 Art put up next to his name. After my solid first round, could I keep the momentum going enough to sneak out a win? With my heart racing and my palms sweaty, I teed off and quickly discovered that this may not be my day after I missed not only an eagle putt, but a birdie putt as well on the par 5 first hole. After a gut punch par to start the round, Art Vandelay had all of the momentum going. But wait, back to back birdies on holes 2 & 3 got my head back in the game before I added two more on holes 5 & 7 to go to -4 through 8. Within striking distance with 10 holes to go, there was no way I could screw this up, right? Stepping up to the Par 5 9th hole, I knew this was my chance to cut into Art's lead even more. Not sure how it happened, but I shot myself in the foot yet again with my second par on the two par 5s on the front nine. This mental beatdown started a downward spiral that led to +1, six hole run. Needing to birdie out the last four holes to just muster a tie with Sir Art, I somehow put my tee shot on the short par 3 15th just a foot away from the hole. Man, I coulda used that ace eagle, but I just need four birdies...here is one....three more to go...deep breaths. Another solid approach shot gave me a gimmie birdie on the 16th. I just have to not screw up my approach on 17. You got this Michael! Welp...that approach went off the left side of the green for a nearly impossible uphill chip to a brutal pin placement. Somehow, I actually got it up and in for a miracle par. A valiant effort, but only an eagle on the par 5 18th would give me the hard-fought tie. As I have learned all week, the side lie on the fairway on 18 doesn't actually do anything. But yet, I still play for it. Yellow right slope, aim left. Hit ball. Ball goes perfectly straight to the left, right where I was aimed, into the greenside bunker. Now, even Harry Potter himself couldn't gather enough magic to match Art's -7. Let's head to the 18th and tune in live to find out.... ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ What. A. Match....that was a battle Art Vandelay . Well played. See you on the 19th hole for a shot and a beer (disclaimer, already in there, 2 deep). Side Note: Currently tied for 3rd in CC-K. #TeamWolverine

Art Vandelay -12 -9 -15 -11 That was too easy for my taste. I'm dead serious. Too much freaking almost-straight-putts. I never hate the game as much as when I play these Thing is though Eric you're playing a CC course which is set up to cover from CC-A players (very good) to CC-L players (not that good) where you rightly reside in the Posh Tours. You Posh boys choose to play with us peasants If you don't find the course easy you're doing something wrong! Don't worry, I have played these for long time enough to know the drill. I underachieve on easy courses, I overachieve on tough courses. It's a fact. And It's the same everywhere. The one before Chicago GC was the toughest CC course for a while and I finished somehting like 17th on PlayStation. Giving the numbers of pro players playing this for fun and side leagues, that's a great result to be on page 2 of leaderboard. This week is easy, won't crack the top 75, pretty sure. It was the same thing in Plat too last season. All Plat courses are tough, but I would still make the cut only on the toughest ones out of the bunch

The Brew Crew Real AleGolf Club of Houston was a popular course despite the faster default green speed. Sounds like most enjoyed the challenge. Here's the latest scoreboard including upcoming events. Look out for Sean's prowse00 preview later in the week giving you some insight into next week's courses for your RCR playing pleasure.

Art VandelayFINAL RUMBLE Easy to tell which round had the slower greens - the rest were 155 UGH! Think I've picked up 3 wins out of 4 so far which is a surprise to me. Will only get a clean sweep however if the other PM Harveydog500 coughs up a big plus score. I had hoped to make it hard for Paul but I never recovered from an early triple on the 2nd hole par 3. Good luck mate!

Since a lot seem to be doing the big reveal here's another. This was me in '63 or '64, 14 or 15 y/o. I think the Beatles had just released 'I wanna hold your hand" so you can see where the hairstyle came from!

Me at the back aged 19 or 20. Went up to a caravan site to see my mate JP ( my match buddy who sadly passed last year) and his wife and young family. Lad at front eyeing up for trouble as he often did . " We're only at a bloody camp site Jimmy man". JP sent me this not long before he died as i didnt remember it being took. Weirdly one of his "young family" I was still going to closing parties in Ibiza up till I was 49 ( 6 years back), wheras now I get worn out playing pixel golf.

First try at some "Long Pork". Really enjoyed the first 3 courses but struggled with the final serving. Still would love to do this when the real meal is served next week. Thanks again Michael Bogey Bonocore for setting this up mate.

Art VandelayFumbling in the bar. R3 -4 You know it's not your day when you need to call the fire service regularly on the front nine as you burn the edges of the hole 6 times for birdies, then that leads to a back 9 where nothing seems to work and you spend much of that trying to save pars.
