Hello Friends! Jim Nantz back from vacation to bring you action for Season 11’s opening week. Who will start off the season strong? Who will take advantage of the 3 point bonus for the Pub Crawl victory? Let’s get out to the action starting with The Americas Tour

Match 1: Bear Necessities vs Sultans of Swing
The opening match of the season sees stalwart Bear Necessities take on Sultan of Swing. It would be the Sultans getting on the board first with an opening match victory. Necessities would bounce back in match two with a vengeance to win in dominant fashion. Sultans would bounce back to open the second day as their opponents essentially decided to stay home. However, once again Necessities would bounce right back to level the match before heading overseas.

Match 2: Hobgoblins vs Brews Brothers
The defending champ Hobgoblins looking to get their season started right found themselves taking on the Brews Brothers in the opening week. Hobgoblins would get off to a quick start on the opening day with a pair of victories despite Mark’s best efforts to give the Brothers some points. They carried their momentum into the second day as they again took both matches in dominant fashion to take a 8-0 lead overseas.

Match 3: Beer Belly Boys vs The Plastered Bastards
Two new arrivals to the Crew square off to open the season as Beer Belly Boys and The Plastered Bastards do battle. It would be the Boys getting on the board first as Mark squandered away over half of Daniel’s score to give them the opening match. The Bastards would bounce right back though drawing the match level to close day 1. Day 2 opened similarly to day 1 with the Boys taking the opening match. And also like day 1, the Bastards bounced back to draw the match level as they headed overseas.

Match 4: Chuffing Chuggers vs Rum Raiders
Newcomers Chuffing Chuggers take on another stalwart team Rum Raiders to open their campaign. It would be the newcomers striking first with a narrow victory to open day 1. However, the Raiders would bounce back and show them that being a new team in this league would not be easy. The Raiders continued to pour it on on day 2 with wins a pair of low scoring matches to take a 6-2 lead at the halfway point.

JN: What an exciting start to the week. Let’s move overseas to the Rest of the World Tour

Match 1: Bear Necessities vs Sultans of Swing
Necessities would carry their day 2 momentum into the third with a pair of wins to push them out in front heading into the final day. Sultans of Swing would go down swinging on day 4 as David took the opening match to draw them back to within 2. Chris would take match 2 for the Necessities to secure the draw. Carol would stave off defeat for the Sultans win a convincing win in match 3. It would come down to the finale which saw Matt and Michael do battle. It would be Matt coming out on top to give Necessities the win outright, 12-8

Match 2: Hobgoblins vs Brews Brothers
Hobgoblins continued to add to their lead starting day 3 with a dominant victory to stretch the lead to 10. The Brews Brothers would finally get on the board to close the day however and keep their hopes of a draw alive. Hobgoblins would have none of that however and showed on day 4 that they should once again be considered as the favorite for the title taking 3 of the 4 matches with only Paul salvaging points for the Brothers. This one was all Hobgoblins, 16-4.

Match 3: Beer Belly Boys vs The Plastered Bastards
Coming off a dead heat in the Americas these two squads refused to be separated early on day 3 as the top pairings battled to a draw. The Boys would inch out in front to close the day with a win going away in the second match of the day. Day 4 would decide this match and it would go the way of the Boys early with Alan taking the opening match to put the Boys on the brink of victory. Ken would inch them closer with a hard fought draw with Marcus. Paraic would keep the Bastards hopes of a draw alive with a win in match 3. However, their captain could not come through in the clutch and was soundly defeated by Randy giving the Boys the 12-8 victory.

Match 4: Chuffing Chuggers vs Rum Raiders
Looking to get themselves back in the match the newcomer Chuggers came out fighting on day 3 taking the opening match. However, the momentum would be short lived as the Raiders quickly bounced back to close the day. Nigel would get the Chuggers started off right on day 4 keeping their faint hopes alive. But the Raiders pulled the plug on any comeback attempt with Ben, Art, and Bova earning wins in the final three matches of the day. This one goes to the Raiders, 14-6

The Americas Tour
The Americas Tour heads to the Rolex Island Tour. Designed by Alex Morrison, this fictional, highlands themed, par 73 course spans 7245. Not much is know about the location but it appears to have some picturesque views.The fairways and greens are soft with the green speed running at medium speeds on default. Don’t rush and hit driver, some holes need a bit of planning to leave you in a decent position for approach to the green.
