You don't lose a tour card for inactivity.  We only clear tour cards when a new game comes out.  You can take an extended break and come back and pick up where you left off.

After being swept by the other, likely better Mark mbuenger, I could only turn my attentions to the OTFR course, a very nice presentation by our very own Bova @caerlessshooting, who designed the greens with illegal friction balls in mind.



Struggled mightily to hold said greens from both on and off. Slippy slidey sloppy.



Managed to bounce back after the rough front nine to take advantage of the point-per-par rule someone had the mercy to implement to stay out of the negative, Art Vandelay Wutpa

A classic tilt between two golfers who more or less backed into the final because of “walkovers”, or a nice way of saying “they played with themselves”.



Pairing Posh Boy Sean and CC Janitor Mark L, this one came right down to the wire, depending on your perspective:

Obvious Fantasy To Report @ Trip Sweetheart

OFTR has been not just mine but the entire team's kryptonite this season, so it was with some delight and no small amount of trepidation that I approached this round with the realisation that 25 points would put us in first place this week. 
I started slowly and assumed the weekly OFTR curse was going to take it's usual bite out of my mortal soul, but then gradually warmed up to bag 13 points at the turn. I had 5 pars on the back nine, but fortunately that mediocrity was delightfully offset by a four hole stretch that I played in -6, and in the end I added another 32 points to the pot.

Hello Friends! Jim Nantz back again in season 10 to bring you results from week 6. It continues to be the Hobgoblins title to lose but the gap closed a little last week. Can they get across the finish line? We shall see. Let’s get out to the action starting with The Americas Tour

Match 1: Fireballers vs Rum Raiders
The Fireballers and Rum Raiders do battle with the Raiders having their eyes set on staying in the second place battle. The Fireballers looking to seal their position as best of the rest, took it to the Raiders early and often. A sweep of the first day set the tone for the Fireballers. While the Raiders would get one back to open the second day, the momentum quickly shifted back to the Fireballers to close the day. The Fireballers take a 6-2 lead to The Old Course.

Match 2: Buzz’n Boozers vs Double D
Buzz’n Boozers were looking to keep themselves in the battle for the best of the rest going up against Double D who are looking to keep themselves out of the wooden spoon position. Double D would come out with a purpose and take the opener of day 1. The Boozers would come back to close the day strong with a victory to level things up. A draw to open day 2 would keep the match tied at 3 before Double D would inch out in front to close the day. This one heads overseas with Double D up 5-3.

Match 3: Hobgoblins vs Eye of the Beerholder
In what was on paper the most lopsided matchup of the week, top of the table Hobgoblins took on cellar dwellers Eye of the Beerholder. Eye of the Beerholder came out scrappy to open day 1 with a surprising win. Hobgoblins would bounce back to close the day and level the match. They would keep their momentum to open day 2, squeaking out a 1 point win to open the day. However, Eye of the Beerholder was proving to be a pesky underdog as they leveled the match once more to close the day. This one is a shocker at the halfway point, 4-4.

Match 4: Gin’ll Fix It vs Bear Necessities
Gin’ll Fix It comes into their matchup with Bear Necessities looking to solidify their position in the battle for the best of the rest. While Necessities were looking for anything to inch them closer to Hobgoblins for the final week of the season. Things started out in their favor with Necessities taking the opening match. However, Gin’ll Fix It bounced back to close the day with a win and level the match. They kept the pressure on to open day 2 as they took the opening match to give themselves their first lead. Necessities would regain the momentum prior to heading overseas with a comfortable win to relevel the match at the halfway point.

JN: What an exciting start to the week. Let’s move overseas to the Rest of the World Tour

Match 1: Fireballers vs Rum Raiders
Across the pond, the Fireballers continued to pour it on with a pair of close better ball wins on day 3 to lock up the draw before day 4. The Raiders would need a miracle to pull out the win. There would be no miracle on the greens this week as the Fireballers closed this one out early with Alan taking the opening match. Nigel and Trevor would add more points for Fireballers with the Golden One coming up with what might be a crucial 2 points next week for the Raiders in match 3. This one was all Fireballers, 16-4.

Match 2: Buzz’n Boozers vs Double D
Double D hit the ground running on The Old Course taking both better ball matchups that came down to the finish. With the match still to be decided the teams teed off on day 4 with the Boozers needing to get off to a fast start to have any chance at all. They did just that as they stormed back from 6 down to pull the match back level after Sean, Tomi, and Marc all won their day 4 matches. It would come down to the finale between Johnny and Gary. And it would be Gary who used a final hole victory to take the match 2up. This one ends with Double D on top, 11-9.

Match 3: Hobgoblins vs Eye of the Beerholder
Hobgoblins looked to quickly re-establish their dominance and opened day 3 with a win. However, once again, the scrappy holders of beer wouldn’t say die and they clawed back to win the final day 3 match. This one would head to the 4th day tied. The Beerholders would open the day with a win from David to give them their first lead since the first match. However, Stevie would bounce back for the Hobgoblins to level the match once more at 8. Thomas would win a nail biter over Tony to give the Beerholders the lead once more and it would come down to the battle of the Marks to determine the result. In a match that ended early, it would be Mark B who would deliver the Beerholders the upset win. This one ends in stunning fashion, Beerholders, 12-8.

Match 4: Gin’ll Fix It vs Bear Necessities
Necessities were scoreboard watching and knew Hobgoblins were in a battle. Smelling blood in the water and an opportunity at the title, they came out with purpose on day 3 and pulled away taking both matches to give themselves a 4 point cushion heading into the final day. The pressure of closing that gap proved to be too much for them though. An opening match draw put them on the brink of victory. However, Gin’ll Fix It played spoiler and closed with a vengeance. Super sub Ken got the ball rolling with a last hole victory over Paul M. Paul D would pull the match back level at 9 after a win over Paraic and it would come down to the finale with Michael and Carol squaring off. This one also came down to the final hole and Michael was able to keep his nerve and pull out the win for Gin’ll Fix It, 11-9

TBC Speedway Pairs Competition




Semi Final 1 saw our top scoring team in the regular season take the win, in a very comfortable style .. i'm sure I saw Carol and Charles skipping down the 18th, arm in arm rocking away to the latest Sabaton track knowing full well their place in the final was guaranteed.  It was supersub Daniel Oram, who came through and helped CF and Randy also make it the final.  Surely CF owes him a drink or 2 for that.


Semi-final 2 was a very, very close affair with only 6 shots between all 4 pairings, with Jason and Art sneaking past the favourites Sean and Tony, with both pairings qualifying for the Grand Final.


The Saloon Shoot out gave the rest of us minions a final chance to make it, albeit with a disadvantage in the Grand Final, but still a chance for glory.  In the end, the expected pairings of Alan / Mark and David / Michael made light work of the opposition and were comfortable qualifiers from the shootout







The Grand Final of TBC Speedway Season 4 ... We have the 3 highest scoring teams in the regular season here who will start as the favoured pairings, with the 2 highest scorers starting at the back of the grid. However even with the added disadvantage, don't rule out our shootout qualifiers, and with CF returning .. will he be ready to come back and make his mark in the final.  None of our 12 competitors have tasted glory in this competition so far, so a new set of names will be engraved into the TBC history books / spreadsheet when someone gets round to updating it at the end of the season ... probably Nigel or Sean

The Americas Tour
The Americas Tour heads to Idaho for golf and potatoes to The Coeur d’Alene Resort. Designed by former Brew Brewer Konsta Kokkonen, this real, highlands themed, par 71 course spans 6803 yards. The 2K23 version is an improved and redesigned version of the popular Coeur d’Alene Resort GC from TGC2. The course is home to the world famous hole number 14 “Floating green”. It is one of the most expensive greens ever made. This 2300 ton floating green was installed in 1990 and the course was opened shortly after in 1991. The course is well known for its memorable par 3s.

Rest of the World Tour
The Rest of the World Tour heads over to Germany to Kranzbach Golf. Designed by our very own Doe Coba, this fictional, boreal themed, par 71 course spans 7316 yards. Located in the Bavarian Alps in the south of Germany is a beautiful place called Kranzbach. Kranzbach Golf is Doe’s vision of what a golf course might look like there. The course has a lot of elevation and the mountain lakes offer some spectacular views and challenges on several holes. The default settings are around medium, yet the course plays well at any setting. It should not be too difficult to keep the ball in the fairway, so the important thing is to get your approach shots to the right place on the greens. Greens are tricky with little elevations, but putts are very makable if your ball is in the right position.

Now let’s get to our One for the Road course of the week: Egeskov Golfklub. Also designed by our very own Doe Coba, this fictional, rustic themed, par 72 course. Egeskov Golfklub is a classic championship golf course. The course sits in a relatively open terrain surrounded by dense oak forest. Narrow straight fairways with a few bunkers strategically placed to challenge tee shots, innocent looking greens that may test most putters, and par 3’s that require precision off the tee. There are two sets of back tees (white) to be used for variation in tournament setup.
