Hello Friends! Jim Nantz here welcoming you to the opening week of Season 9 of The Brew Crew. Some dramatic changes were made during the offseason as the Crew tried to inject a bit of excitement into an aging game. Chief among the changes is the division of the pub crawl into 2 separate tours: The Americas Tour and the Rest of the World Tour. The Americas Tour will consist of 2 rounds of traditional pub crawl play. The Rest of the World Tour will consist of a better ball round and the traditional match play final round. Scorecards WILL be needed for both rounds played in the Rest of the World Tour. And last but not least One for the Road moves to a new home in the TBC OFTR society with a change in scoring. Most notably a par will now net you a point. Now that we’re all caught up, let’s find out where we are playing this week.
The Americas TourThe Americas Tour kicks off the season in Massachusetts visiting the Provincetown Dunes. Designed by Michael Ranalli, Provincetown is a fictional delta themed, par 72 course spanning 7505 yards. The course provides a unique environment where you would perhaps least expect it. Cape Cod, Massachusetts is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Northeast. Though, the Dunes of the Province Lands are a wonde even locals still cannot fathom. Unlike the majority of state beaches, Provincetown has rugged, towering sand dunes. Land fit for a golf course. Here at Provincetown Dunes the golfer will be tasked with a fun, yet challenging round of golf. As if the waste area scattered around the course were not enough punishment, the addition of strategic bunkering, and a narrow river that works its way through several holes will force the golfer to take extra thought before letting it fly. Wide sloping fairways, and fairly undulated greens will offer a fun ground game.

Designed by Nicholas Freter, Freterhead is a fictional delta themed par 71 course spanning 7280 yards. The course was his entry into the Dream Team 2024 for Team Scottish. It was created on the mattyfromcanada plot and was inspired by his trip to Scotland which included rounds at Cruden Bay and Royal Dornoch. The course should be capable of handling maxed out conditions and two sets of manipulated tees for variety.
