Played pretty mistake free golf and had a hot putter until the 18th in round 3. Misjudged my approach going for the green in 2 and put 2 shots in the water before settling for a quad bogey. I was purposely playing pretty conservative to not make mistakes and just get the ball on the green since they were rolling nice and i was making a ton of putts. Maybe worst case scenario is fringe and i could putt or chip (have had i think 2-3 chip ins as well). Oh well...could have been a really nice tournament but will have to settle for another middle of the pack finish.
-11, -9, -3, -8 = -31 Total.

As the designer of the course, I'm interested in hearing some more opinions. Still not sure what created the situation on #11 as all the greens were splined and filled. Hopefully it doesn't cost anyone a shot. I play tested this more than any course I've published.
I was a little surprised to hear that the course seemed unfinished. I've never worried about planting to make things pretty. Absence of flyovers in the game made me care even less about peripherals that can't be seen. My focus is always on terrain and sightlines that aid in aesthetics.
I will say that the hump in front of 9 green is strategic in every sense for players who can barely get there in 2.
The greens are very flat in comparison to most of my other tracks. This was a port that has been remade 3 times since the original TGC, so veterans may remember it from former tour stops as GC of Pennsylvania and Laurel Highlands GC. You can see a few similarities and some major changes. It was never designed to be difficult.
I look forward to hearing thoughts good and bad. I'm sure there will be a tweak or 2 for the 2K22 release...

I personally loved it, very straight forward, different options off the tee on some holes, so strategy is important. Greens were fairly wide and not many slopes near the hole (which I prefer over hard breaks), even if there were some platoes that played really nicely! Overall a scoreable course with lots of birdie opportunities if played well, but also punishing if you put it in the wrong spots (tell me about it, I bogeyed the 7th almost every time I played it). I just got into designing and I don't like planting either, most of the courses I play IRL don't have much planting, I know it's a video game but I like to keep it simple and your course is exactly that, simply beautiful.

I really enjoyed the course as well! I thought the layout was interesting and enjoyable, even if not always challenging. I liked that if you hit the ball well you were often rewarded.

I'm sure there will be a tweak or 2 for the 2K22 release... I don't think my statement earlier of calling it simply unfinished was altogether fair. As I said, I felt the course was fair and fun and the terrain was very realistic. The edges of the mound on the par 5 9th just needs to be rounded out a bit to blend better with the surrounding terrain. Trust me I aimed for it pretty much every round lol. Screaming draw with a hybrid and hope for the right kick! To be clear I meant aesthetically it felt unfinished. Minor things such as the creek flowing over grass rather than having a bank or anything. But as to how it performs in the game, strategy/decisions required, physics, terrain etc, all very good. Hearing your perspective as the designer makes it clear that you achieved what you were going for. Including practice rounds I played like 9 or 10 rounds on the course and I absolutely enjoyed the birdie hunting. Wish I had scraped out a few more in competition as it looks as though I'm going to come up a little short on CC-A.

I agree about the creek. I can't stand the rugged edges of water and wanted to have grass covered banks, so I used the trick of using 2 water tables.. Probably could have used that water method on the ponds and left the rugged look for the creeks. I'll add some rocks next year.

I'm sure there will be a tweak or 2 for the 2K22 release... I personally thought the course was good. After the last few tournaments it was good to have a course that catered for my wild driving technique by having more generous fairways. It’s easier than some recently but that’s a good thing as some of the courses can be a bit overbearing. I was close to giving this week a miss after last week. Thought the course looked like it would suit me so gave it a shot. I liked the fact it wasn’t overly planted, it was done in the right way IMO. I like the vibes of the course in Georgia we shouldn’t mention. The final par 3 is a bit of an amen🙏 moment before I hit off the tee. Anyway this is after the first 2 half decent rounds in CC-E ... ask me again after my usual weekend implosion and I might have a different view!

I enjoyed the course, I just didn't play very well on it. Couldn't get a consistent tempo going and just kept missing fairways and greens. I didn't like the slow greens in the first two rounds either but that goes for any course.

CC-B I really enjoyed the course and wish I'd practiced it more. I just never found any rhythm with my putter so now I'm staring at a 2nd missed cut in a row I'm sure it's been talked about earlier but there's a point on this course where the adjacent hole sometimes plays as the better option. I'm no knocking it by any means because I've accidentally had this issue in my own designs. But if the designer could have avoided this, it would've put this as one of my favorites I've played this year. It had some Augusta vibes and good variety.

I'm sure there will be a tweak or 2 for the 2K22 release... I liked the course. I think you see a lot of courses on tour from familiar and/or well established designers. They might not always play brilliantly, but they generally look the part. I thought this one did strike me as looking a little basic on the visual front, from what you normally get on tour. But hey, if that's your style, who am I to criticise. And besides, it's not really meant as a criticism anyway. In fact, I'm very happy to see a course like this, one that focuses on playability above pretty pictures, on tour. It's kind of akin to my own style too. So it gave me some hope that perhaps I can design a course that gets on tour too. I've only designed one course myself. One that I actually spent a decent amount of time on that is. If you want to give Albedo a whirl sometime, I'd appreciate any feedback you may have. Designing took a bit of a back seat for me when the new game came out, but I'll be looking to get back in to it shortly I think.

Man I just can't putt on green speeds this slow at all. -4, +1 and I just barely make the cut in CC-H

I've done 2 over the years with another one coming in a few weeks. Creating courses that are realistic is always my preference if I'm not going to replicate something that already exists.
