Welcome to week 6 at Cardinal Pines!
We start out the week on a nice sunny afternoon with minimal wind and nice conditions. Over the course of the week, a storm moves in and things get windier and softer. The excellent grounds crew manages to keep things nice and firm initially, but the storm wins out in the end for round 4, which ends up soft and up a tee!
Good luck and play well!
FYI I did hear of a patch of green that is listed as fairway... it's too late to change anything now.. so hoping it doesn't affect anybody and it was a one off occurrence.

Played a practice round a few days ago. Pretty simple easy goin track, if guys can hit decent approach shots we should see plenty of low 60s and few 50s scores. Should be a "get right" week for guys who have been struggling but on the verge of turning the corner. Greens aren't too dangerous. Good luck to everyone!

Just ended as a CC-L member -23 through all 4 rounds. Decently easy track and definitely will see some good scores coming. Goodluck to the rest!
My course is on the table for next week so really looking forward to that!

Are you able to tell that from the "Weather Report?" I guess I am not able to tell how to read it. I understand that the tees are in order, but how do you read the rest from day to day? And also are the flags just in order? Day one, pin one... etc.

The round 1 course conditions don’t match the weather report. Wind direction is different, speed is low instead of high and greens are on moderate instead of default.

The tees used are the only thing in order from round 1-4. Everything else is what you will see during the 4 rounds but not necessarily in order from round 1-4.

When I read the opening comments that we started out with dry conditions and then a storm moved in, I expected what showed up in the spreadsheet to match with fast greens slowing to moderate.

-18 thru 2.
Meh, certainly enough to make the cut I would think but not good enough to threaten the top 1 so far.
Missed a bunch of very makeable birdie putts and wedge play was a bit off at times. There will certainly be some very low PS scores this week....and the odd XB one too.

In a practice round, I ended up in that patch of green that is the fairway. 11th hole. Right to the pin location. I'll try to show the picture I took. I have put it on the TGC Tours's Discord, right on the Challenge Circuit General thread.

After narrowly missing out on the cut in CC-E last week I was wanting to put that to bed and start afresh. It seemed as soon as I picked up a bogey another one was in the post as I hit 4 on the 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th. Luckily I cancelled them all out with birdies on the 2nd, 7th and two either side of the bogies in the final stretch.
It seems to be a good fair course to me with more flatter greens although I left a few shots out there which stopped a few inches short.

Was still able to putt and make the putt though so... But yeah, I just wanted to point the location out to those who will play their rounds there.

I think it's only a smaller patch when you are in close proximity to the hole. The speed of putting off the fairway is a bit funky obviously and can't pull the flag, but hopefully the impact is minimal since so close to the hole.

During qualifying at Evangelist I hit a bad approach to a par 3 that ended up short left and on the fairway (and I mean it was yards onto the fairway, nowhere near the fringe even, yet the lie was heavy rough). Was wondering did anyone else experience this?
