-2 -2
First missed cut for the year for me. Played poorly really, missed too many fairways and putted terribly. One of those courses that I could play a hundred times and never score well, doesn’t suit my game or my eye.
Onto next week. Good luck to everyone yet to play and thanks to the designer.

Got away nicely with a -7 which was my fifth bogey free round after going bogey free at Kingswood.
Got cocky. Didn’t go so well and ground out a -2 to sit at -9 for the cut.
Will have to wait and see if I’m on the early flight home.
Gunna call a -35 winning score

Thinking the winner gets to right around -30, but hard to say after people went pretty deep in round 2.

Top 5 last week, bottom 5 this week. Round 1: the E is for errors. Round 2: -1... Nice.
Not a course that forgives. Missed fairways lead to missed greens or putts up and down plateaus. Thought I had this tempo thing figured out. Definitely don’t. Red Fast and red Slow all day and totally unpredictable.

It all started with a missed 6 footer for birdie. I thought the eagle on 3 would start things on the right track but an odd bounce on 4 and I was left with a bogey. I haven't had a round with more silly and unlucky stuff happen to me in a long time. I started front nine with a -4 that included two bogeys. Then some really weird things happened. A 6 yard chip that hit the flagstick, ended up having a next shot of 42 yards. I would hit another pin after one bounce and ended up 68 feet away. Still -2 end of round 1.
I really tried second round but after hitting a bad shot into the woods, I had a 78 yard shot with no trees in front of me or above me. The pitch shot i hit, reached its apex and started downwards, then hit something, an invisible branch? Whatever it was it was a solid hit with a THWAK and my ball turned right and backwards twenty yards and into the water. I had a splash shot hit the pin and go back into the water as well. By now I'm so done and just sped golfed the way to an 80.
I'll take my strike or two and move on. It was just one of those days that no matter how good of a shot I hit, I got a bad roll or missed the 6 foot birdie putt, sprinkle in some really bad luck and I'm quite surprised my golfer wasn't struck by lightening on hie way to the finishing hole. It would have been fitting.
Good luck.

I wonder about where my 36th hole, where I hit the bunker off the tee, hit the lip of the bunker getting out so went back into the bunker, placed the 3rd shot 20 feet away on the massive slope, and then 3 putted (...the 2nd putt was a 3 footer that decided that 90° turns are all the rage instead of dropping near center-cut), will place me in terms of demotion marks (-3 -> -1). Always got to love starting tourneys with two very fasts or two very slows in a row inexplicably again despite hitting perfects or barely grays on the training range right before loading the event. Regardless of that, I just flat out sucked at this course and never felt comfortable, especially with the ending run of 15-18. Was just trying not to hit the water off the tee on 16, so naturally I hit the water off 16 tee. Easy way to make double bogey (but hey, because FIRs are glitched, the drop in the fairway means it counts as a FIR ). Changed to right stick swing with my XB1 controller for this, which definitely helped in terms of shot shape (left stick neutral down reads SSE, and recalibrating doesn't fix it), but now I need to work on the timing since it just doesn't feel comfortable, and apparently how to account for left/right winds correctly. Tough course, fun challenge, I'm bad, and HB's "framerate stabilization" part of the patch seems like it did nothing.

Will miss cut again this week, finished -1 after 2 rounds.
Played awful, just kept canceling out birdies all the time.
They've done something to the tempo, its not the same on the Xbox... On to next week.

I mean who knows with HB anymore. They definitely snuck an unannounced update into the swing on us a couple weeks ago. Now there is a real update with notes, but it's mostly just giant heads and hats and dumb putters? Wouldn't shocked me if they changed the swing again without telling anyone though.

I enjoyed the course this week, except for the 18th. I hate that hole. Both rounds hit my only very slow tempo on the tee and led to a double in round 1 and a bogey in round 2. It's a made cut if I just make a par on both rounds. Started off so well too. I was -4 after 8 holes before collapsing to a 73, and managed a 67 in round 2 to finish 36 at -4.

Just read the whole thread, I really liked this course and it was by no means too hard, just a US Open style course, some holes you had to leave 220 in and scramble for par, lots of short 4s and par 5s you had to really think your way through. Loved it.
That said, I really enjoyed last week too! Great to see some RCRs get an outing, missed them last game on TGCT, am even completely surprised to see one of my RCRs, a par 69 links course is on the Platinum next week!
The schedule has been refreshing so far so please don’t listen to the naysayers, keep picking great courses!

The schedule has been refreshing so far so please don’t listen to the naysayers, keep picking great courses! No one's trashing any courses on the schedule here- we'll leave that to that Platinum guys. The Courses on all Tours here are extremely well vetted and deserving to be on the Schedule. Perhaps, we can circle back on my topic in a few weeks/ months when more people have that "A-HA" or "Oh Sh|t" realization that your short forgiving clubs aren't going to cut it for all rounds on the next level.

Made my first ever cut! Then followed it with probably my worst TGCT rounds to date, and ended up in the positives lol. You can find me at the bottom of the leaderboard. Being new to the game, this has all been a fun experience, hoping to make making the cut a more regular occurrence!
