Welcome to week 5 of the Elite Tour. Not sure if we have any promotions up already from the Kinetic tour, but if so, special welcome to the newbies and a quick apology. I'm sorry you missed out on the first two weeks, where we purposefully scheduled a few courses to ease everyone in to the new season on the new game. That is not the case this week. For week 5 we head to Avery Fields, created by the great rjwils30. Modeled after parkland courses that have hosted US Opens like Merion and Oakmont, this one is a true test of all your virtual golf abilities. I haven't made a cut yet, but would love to get that done on this tough test created by one of my favorite designers. Good luck everyone!

Welcome to week 5 of the Elite Tour. Not sure if we have any promotions up already from the Kinetic tour Looks like if the Kinetic field holds up as is, then there will be 9 players moving up for this event.

Played a practice round. There are shots to be had but you have to hit the fairway. I think I got it around -6 before I started experimenting with shots on #17.

Anything at -5 or better in a round here is a very good score.

Played on it a couple of times. Certainly a tough course, and can be absolutely brutal in the short game if you land on the wrong side of the pin that can put bogeys or worse in play. Fairways are tight and it seems if you aren't wary of all the bounces, you can find yourself running off quite a few of them into the thick grass, making a GIR impossible and par a great score on a hole. 18 is an absolute brutal finishing hole, and I'm just hoping R1 doesn't have a large headwind on that hole with that back left pin. Should be a fun test and I'll be interested to see if we see someone hit -30, though it might be more feasible than I think since we're not dealing with VF/VF every round (and what a hell of a time that round is going to be, even more so if it's the one with very high winds).

-12 for the week ... R3 is a bloodbath with VH winds. This course was plenty challenging enough w/o those settings and turned it into a hit and pray affair. On to next week.

R4 for me the the knockout punch. Was taking a beating but hanging in there for 3 rounds. Just a bit too much frustration in this course and setup for me to get into. I’ll play them as they come though.

Having played a couple of practice rounds last night I knew I'd be doing well just to break par. -2 with towards the end of round two then dropped 5 shots in the last three holes so see you all next week! To be perfectly honest I'm not good enough to be in this tour, lucked out a bit in qualifying. The challenge is great though so just enjoying it while it lasts.

Welp. I might not belong here. Turns out having half of q school on your own course is tremendously helpful. At one point I was -5 in round one. Finished -2 thanks to a back 9 blow up and par fest. I should have turned the game off and fought another day. Instead I went into round two nice and angry. Couple of bogies that wiped out birdies on the front sent me on tilt. Three double bogies on the back sent me fully over the edge. +2 total thru 2 rounds. I just have not adjusted to the game after the update well at all. Probably headed for double demos back to back weeks and I’ll be fighting for my elite life next week. Oh darn. I miss out on the very high winds round three.
