Finished at +6 and +2 for the first two rounds, so looks like another missed cut. Cant seem to get the ball to slow down on the green on my approach shots. I will hit the green and it will roll and roll and roll, so I end up looking at a 40+ foot putt for birdie, and usually a 10 foot putt to save par. When setting up the shot (on a PS4), I believe that moving the left stick DOWN increases the loft/decreases distance, correct? What does the right stick do? I would think that increasing the angle (moving the stick UP) would increase backspin and make the ball stop quicker, but this does not seem to be happening. Could be a function of the club or a function of the poor golfer utilizing the club! LOL Any thoughts? Thanks!

2 rounds down, 2 to go.
I jokingly proclaimed last week that I'd return with a vengeance, but... wow. What even was my 1st round? Ten under par in the 1st round for a score of 60 where everything seemed to go just right, 1 over par in the 2nd round for a 71 which is a score that I was more expectant of. 9 under par after 2 rounds, amazingly looking at top 10 right now. I don't think it'll necessarily last until the end since tougher conditions gave me way more problems, but let's see where I can drag myself this week. After the mess that was last week, if you told me I'd challenge for top 10 at the halfway mark this week, I would have considered that pretty much impossible (and I never expect to challenge for it to begin with, I'm not THAT good!)
Note: my first round score at the time put me tied for 6th place in the overall PC leaderboard, which to me is so absurd and surreal that I can't even process it even about an hour after finishing it.

So, ummm... I might as well throw everything I posted above straight into the garbage bin.
Long story short: my scores won't show up anymore for the week. I think everything makes more sense to me now, including the monster start I had this week. I would have finished the week at -16 by the way, which would have been absolutely superb. That score will now be a mere grain of salt to me. Next week shows how much of it was genuine skill and not the controller, which was the reason my scores went up in smokes.
Oh well, moving on to next week. A damn shame that this week counts for nothing in the end but it's understandable due to the reasons I have been given, and therefore I accept this wholeheartedly. I'll show up next week with something that will leave me with scores in the end. I'm expecting to miss the cut by a mile, so I hope I prove myself wrong.
EDIT: also, good luck to those still in it and having any rounds left. If you've already shot all of your rounds, wishing luck might be a bit too late so let's save that for next week? But regardless, I hope for the best to everyone here. Anyone that didn't make the cut this week, better luck next week! You'll get there next time.

After being top 10 through 2 rounds I fell to down to Earth a bit. Last round front 9 I probably shouldn't have played due to my state at the time but had to or wouldn't have finished all my rounds. Went +3 on the front and went on some crazy birdie spree on the back to finish -8 for the tourney. Easily my best so far. I uploaded a highlight to my last round of another pure luck hole out.

Okay then, got my first round in. It should stick around this time and I'm probably right around cut line for the week, depends on the next round. Here's a summary of the shenanigans.
So I wasn't expecting anything super great out of this week, shot 2 practice rounds that were both +3. And what do you know, +3 again.
Started off super nice. On the 1st hole, first 2 shots found the bunker. Saved par though with a well placed 3rd shot that stopped right at the hole.
Then double bogeys back to back in 4 and 5. First one was due to a badly timed slow swing that went flying away off a cliff, and for the other one I went to weed out 2 shots worth of tall grass right by the rocks.
After that, I tried minimizing risks and found some rhythm to the game, scoring well. Lucky drive in the 14th where I got another poorly timed slow swing, only to be saved by the wind and a neat rough area that didn't really hinder much and in fact helped out by cutting tons of distance, so that was good.
At 17th, a three putt because I couldn't judge anything if I even tried and 18th started off with one more slow swing straight out of bounds.
Eventful round, next one looks a bit easier in terms of conditions. I shall see probably tomorrow. Could have been much worse so I'll take +3 for now.

Round 2 down. Currently at flat even, so not only am I making the cut pretty comfortably, I'm somehow, someway standing higher than I expected at this point! My practice rounds are terrible, so the fact that I'm getting the good ones at the right time is fantastic.
Despite all the mistakes that I manage to make, I somehow don't really see that affect my scorecard too much. I should have had at least twice as many bogeys that I had in this round (I had 3), so keeping those in check and not getting into any real trouble this time around was really nice.
Also had some rarities in this round. I managed to score not one, but two eagles in the same round! Like, one would have been good enough, but two?! I've never seen that happen to me before, so having it happen on this round was some really perfect timing.
Into the "weekend" for the first time in a couple of weeks, so that is my main goal for this event that's been achieved. Good luck going forward to everybody!

Cheers to those that are battling it out in the final two rounds! I on the other hand died from a thousand cuts...bleeding from the 1st hole to the very end of the 18th. My game is definitely going south and fast. I figure that I've no more than two weeks left here in J flight unless my game turns around. Good luck to All!

At the end of 8 holes on the second round, I was at -1 and thinking I would finally make the cut. Then had two consecutive 10's (does that make me twice as good as Tiger Woods?)....................................... Wait til next week.

Went -1 with numerous lip outs to be top of the board for day 1. Move on to round 2 and EASILY could have been 5 under with 5 ten footers barely missing. (blaming my new glasses) Then I must have blacked out on the back 9 as I just completely fell apart. I usually go with a fast tempo and account for that. For whatever reason the XBOX wasn't having it and I literally couldn't hit fast. They were all perfect or slow, which never happens. Ended up with some in the water and went 6 OVER. easily my worst, and on a day with no wind. Made the cut by 1 and idk if I even want it lol.

I did my best tournament ever. +3 -5 -8 +3 Tot: -7 Did a HIO on hole 12 on the last round, i was so proud Until i got to hole 18, the last hole on the tournament and hits two balls in the water and end up with 8 strokes on a par 4. Went from -1 to +3 on that. But still, i have place 20 now and can get a promotion mark!

Same for me! Best tourny so far:
E E -1 -3
Total: -4
Was a fun course. I got wet a few times, but the swing tempo finally wasn't all over the place.

Alright, late finisher here but better on the last day than never (I guess).
Personal best round score of 64 in the 3rd round, only to screw it all up in the final round. Looking at the leaderboard, I feel like that wasn't the most unusual way of things to go.
So yeah, monster start to round 3. Had built up to 5 under in 5 holes, with another eagle thrown in the mix, giving me 3 total. Stabilized after that, but I seriously have to say that the trees in the 7th hole became my new enemies. I drove a shot about 30 yards away from the tee box into the rough because I found a way to hit the first tree possible. Then hit another one again the next round. Round 3 was about as good as I could get it, and overall that round was the best one I shot all event long, practice rounds included. It wasn't even close either.
Round 4, everything except the chipping went wrong. That's why when you look at the scorecard, you see I missed out on putting in 5 separate holes. You know your chip game is strong when you have 9 putts total in the back 9, and one of the holes is a 3 putt. Oh, I guess I found fairways pretty well too.
All in all, without the last round I would have been super happy with my effort. Now I've kinda got a bitter taste in my mouth, which is negated by my PB round score. But I hung around in the 40s pretty much the whole way through and I'm gonna finish around 40th, so I guess it's a statement of consistency in its own way which I've never really had. So, I guess that's positive. I also do feel like my overall game is looking decent and I might actually have some level of skill. Not much, but it's at least there. So that's certainly reassuring for upcoming events.
No idea what's coming up next, but I never do anyway. Hasn't stopped me yet! Well played everyone, and good luck in the next one!
EDIT: forgot to include my final score. Finished at -2.

+2 on the first round of the Blue Moon Championship. Actually felt like I played pretty good. A few makable putts that were missed kept me from even par or 1 or 2 under. Hopefully will continue into Round 2 and I can finally make a cut after a few weeks of misses.

So uhh... I'm still buzzing about what just happened. I had this happen just 2 weeks ago so I'm gonna be very cautious about this, but I have a feeling this will stick around this time.
I shot one practice round. +5. I was like "yeah, not gonna make the cut this week", so I went ahead and started with basically nothing to lose. If I shoot this bad, then so be it.
What a turnaround.
I went into the first rounds with a mindset of "play smart", only focus on scoring when it's possible and stay out of trouble. Mission successful, can't remember a single massive mistake apart from like 1 hole in the 2nd round, might have been the 8th where I found a lot of rough and yet managed to save par.
First round was quite pedestrian, at least that's what I thought. Nothing awfully special, bogey free up to the 10th which by itself was a big surprise to me. I didn't really think I putted that well either. And I really didn't, the very fast greens really caught me out but not as much as I was feeling like they would. Somehow that round went 5 under. I was super surprised. I was thinking that I'm gonna check the conditions for the next round, take another practice round, go in. Decided against it, went straight in since conditions weren't much different. So onto the second round I go.
Turns out, unbelievably good choice.
All I can really say is: I somehow found magic in my putting. I never make putts over 20 feet. This round alone, I first made one from about 25 feet away. That was the 8th. Next hole, I one upped myself. Around 30 feet, over a small slope. Then there was one, either 14 or 15, where I somehow landed one from 35 or 36 feet. And then the eagle in the 17th where I, for the first time, somehow found a way to judge the putt speed to perfection. Another 35 or 36 footer.
I have no idea how I achieved the round that I did. I'm still buzzing about it, got massive goosebumps. I scored a 59. 13 UNDER. I'm 18 under after 2 rounds.
After my abysmal practice round, somehow I'm looking at a possibility of winning this week, which I thought was a position I could never see myself in. I don't even know how this is happening. Simply put, I'm stunned. I thought at times last week that I genuinely am starting to see some skill in me, but... I didn't think it would lead to this kind of start the very next week.
There will be a time to see if I can carry anything near this to the end. It's not going to be now though.

Not gonna win (as expected) but overall I'm gonna be finishing really high for the week!
I spent the last 2 rounds playing safe and not letting my monster round go to waste, and I think I did a solid job of that. I've always struggled with high winds so round 3 was a pain in that regard for me, but I managed to score -5 for a 67, despite not finding fairways almost at all! (35.7%, like how is that even possible?)
Round 3 was where I could have blown up but I didn't, so that was great!
I can't really remember anything super great happening in round 4 either apart from finding more fairways and I think my putting was okay? Shot another -5 for another 67.
In summary, -5, -13, -5, -5. Consistent run of rounds apart from that second one, -28 for the week. Definitely good enough for at least one promotion mark, still gonna have to keep watch if I could get a top 10 and double marks but based on the look of things, I might get there! Next week I assume is going to be tougher, but for now, I'll take this result and run with it. I'm gonna miss the cut next week though for overperforming this week, aren't I?
