Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
Once upon a time, I decided that something needed to be done about the fact that a tournament in the Pro Tours is basically over for anybody missing the cut. Hence, I came up with a humble little side event, namely
The Hunt for The Golden Cow
which usually runs during the time between two promo events. It is nothing special at all and the rules are very basic. Participants simply play their Platinum rounds and post the respective scores (no screenshots needed) here or in the weekly thread. Points are rewarded based on the total score after 4 rounds. Missed cuts are not taken into account in the sense that the score after four rounds is considered for everybody.
The weekly winner receives [number of participants] points, then one point less for each subsequent finisher. Note that those who do not finish their four rounds get 0 points.
If you happen to be interested, please confirm your participation in this thread or in the weekly Platinum thread (tag me maybe). Registration is open until Sunday, October 18, when next week's event is done. All current Platinum players and past Cow Hunters not deterred by the four extra rounds are welcome!
Cheers,
Kevin

Even though I'm interpreting the weekly threads as not being restricted to the respective Tour card owners but rather open to anyone, I completely understand that not all players might share this opinion. Thus, if you feel uncomfortable posting in the official thread, you can post your Cow Hunt scores in here. Since, at the same time, I don't want to urge people (especially Platinum card holders) to post the same score wrap-up twice (here and in the weekly thread), I'll continue grabbing scores from the official thread as well, letting you choose where to post. I am slightly afraid that this might split our little group into two, but I guess we'll have to see how it develops. In any case, please bear with me, as I'm not an experienced side event organizer, and this whole Cow Hunt idea really just came up as I was looking for something to play for even if I miss a cut. Cheers, Kevin

Great job Kev As a mere Elite Level player I’ll post my humble results here. After Rd 1 I’m making an early challenge for the butter-cup, because I keep sliding off the greens.

Thanks for creating this thread Kevin, at least here maybe we won't have to see the obnoxious posts from you know who (IMO the only Platinum player to object to the Cow Hunt in the thread). Only going to say that I am not a fan.
Will you be posting a halfway update? Understand if it is too much, just curious.
Cow-ward!

I'll continue to post my Cow Cup scores in that Platinum thread. There is historically so much b|tching and whining and general curmudgeon tendencies in the PGA forum, that this Cow Cup discussion is one positive topic in an otherwise miserable thread. I'm actually interested to see how this little experiment pans out there.

Including the Cow Hunt in the weekly threads worked for three seasons, I don't see why it shouldn't in Platinum. Moreover, we are not very invasive: tournament wrap-ups, a mid-week update and weekly final standings.

-2 total for me. Really rough start. Round 3 got me bad. I won’t hang in platinum long with my putting. I try everything but can’t figure it out.

I'm in! Couldn't stomach finishing all 4 rounds with that course and my atrocious putting stroke. But I'll post here when done.

+5 / -6 / E / -5 for -6 overall. Horrible round 1, but I think I avoided demotion marks.
