Played plenty of this course in PGA Tour mode so no excuses from lack of practice this week As others have said, this course was a lot easier than the previous courses thanks to the wide fairways and big greens, but the heavy rough felt like playing in a farmers field R1 67 R2 69 R3 74, terrible start with 4 bogies from the first 5 holes. Happy to claw back to +2 R4 67 -11 overall so happy with that. Another cut made (100% success) but I'm so far off the top 20 at the moment. I can't figure this game out compared to the previous versions, lots of variables to learn I guess but it would be lush to be able to hit it straight and the distance I want like previous versions again! -11 here also -1 -3 -3 -4 and darn happy for my first CCG attempt

-3 3rd round. A late bogey and a double ruined it.

4th round -2 Again, I had it to -4 and bogies 15 & 16, pars at 17 & 18 ruined a decent round.

First round of World Golf Hall of Fame Open was a disaster.
The course is really nice, certainly the first 3 holes seemed very easy where I had very good birdie chances on pretty flat greens....and I missed them all!
Plodded along until the first water hole appeard...splash. Bogie.
The par 3 with water around it is nice....shame I went into the waterfall!
A few birdies and few more bogies meant a first round score of +4.
If I were to rate my performance out of 10, it would be 3. I hit quite a few decent shots but putting was the worst its been to date.
I've left a mountain to climb to make the cut now, it wouldn't surprise me if it was around -2/-3 and I don't think I've got a -7 in me.

I swear, putting has gotten harder since sometime mid-last week. In my 4th round of last week's event I had 34 or so putts compared to my average of 25 for the other 3 rounds. I feel like the backswing has been sped up. I did a couple practice courses at this week's course last week and was unable to break par. Hopefully get in a round or two today and I'll report back!

Round 2 was better, greens were a bit quicker but wind was about the same.
Highlight was pitching in from about 75 yards for eagle. Missed a few easy putts again and left a lot short which looked like a good line.
Finished -2 and +2 after 2 rounds. I'll be surprised if that makes the cut but I'll cross my fingers and see what happens.

I was cruising along until the 13th with the lake on the right and a big hill to bring the ball back to the fairway on the left. It didn’t. And THEN I hit the ball into the water.
-4 in round 1.

1st round was a nightmare. Summary.. 1 quad, 3 doubles, that included 3 balls in the drink, 1 OB and a headache from moving shadows. 5 birdies helped but still a +5. Moaning over.

Really got to watch those OBs on this course. And the slant of the fairways. That one par 5 with the stream on the right the ball bounces toward the water. Think I’ll lay up and be conservative

Alright, all my rounds for the week have been played and I'm sitting at -20! I'm improving every week, so I really can't ask for much more. I've now shot +3, -6, -15, and -20 in my first four tournaments. Last week I just missed a promotion mark, so I'm really hoping -20 will be enough to get one this week... we will see.
But anyways, how did I end up at -20? My first round started off great, I was -3 through 14 holes and feeling good, until I made a complete mess of the 15th and shot a triple bogey... That ruined my round, but I was able to get it back to -1 at least.
Round 2 was much better, as I shot a 33 on the front and a 32 on the back for a solid -7. I had 3 bogeys, but made plenty of birdies and two eagles. Still felt like I left a bit out there with some missed short putts, though.
In Round 3 I was able to correct that, and shot my best round to date in a TGC event with a stunning 10 under par round. Honestly I was just locked in and either putting my approaches right next to the flag, or hitting 20+ ft putts any time I wasn't close. I even left a few silly ones on the course, including a missed tap-in on 18... what could have been!
I played R4 immediately after finishing R3 with that missed tap-in, and I think that might've gotten in my head a bit as my game struggled. I had a really hard time getting anything going, and was sitting +1 for the majority of the round, but luckily I was able to make another eagle on hole 16 (I eagled it 3/4 rounds I think) and salvage the round. Unfortunately I missed another tap-in on 17, but had a solid par to finish -2.
And that's how I got to -20. -1, -7, -10, and -2. Good luck to everyone else on the rest of your rounds.

WARNING PS4 story - So I sit down for round 2 and as normal take my normal 5-10 practice swings. The goal is to get a feel so I can fast and slow and not be surprised, just get a feel. WELL - first swing is VERY FAST - buried the needle at 9:00 OK OK slow it down Rod, second swing VERY SLOW! buried the needle at 3:00, third swing VERY FAST. I never VERY FAST or VERY SLOW all the way. after 5 swings I'm not even close to being NEAR perfect. WTF! I'm about to put down the controller and play another day BUT - for giggles. I get up and plug in the controller! PERFECT! 3 swings with no RED warnings. hmmmmmmmm Well, that proved something . . not sure what but .... Anyway - Harder round and only hit one OB when I went slow in a 15 mph headwind and I bounced into some guys garden LOL Sorry man! Ended up EVEN because of my putter Both rounds my long range putts are hitting 45%. Even in my society this morning I drained a 60 footer. -4 after 2 rounds and I think I'm good to go for 2 more rounds in my 2nd event. I tell ya - my sphincter on that one water fall hole is getting a work out. stoner79 - I think you will make it. Those EVEN and -1 rounds guys won't all light it up. That was a harder round I felt.
