Quite liked this course....nice wide fairways mainly so helpful when we're all dealing with tempo tantrums! Thank god for the reachable par 5's and short par 4's. Helped my score along. Rd 1 was -5 and was pretty solid then was -6 after 7 in Rd 2, then had a big par train and finished -7. -3 and -9 to finish -24. I reckon the way I'm playing, that's almost as good as I've got. Yeah buggered up a few holes but was very happy not to screw up so much. Cheers and good luck all.

My main skill in the older games was avoiding bogeys. That's not possible for me so far in this iteration. I'm pretty certain I'm a better putter in real life than in this game. Lots of 3 putts spread throughout the rounds.
Does anybody feel like the cup is "smaller" in 2k21? So many rimouts...
-3, -3, E, -3 for -9 total.

I think they made the margin for missing more narrow around the cup. I finally have a hang of the putting in this game but the 5-10 footers are still killing me. I can tap the ball in and I've been making a good amount of putts from distance but I miss so many of those short knee-knockers

On the one hand it's quite refreshing to see a TGCT cut at -3, just what I was hoping would happen. On the other it makes the slow splash shot I hit on 18 in round 2 a bit more painful! Should have been an automatic up and down for birdie, ended as a par and looking like I'm going to miss by one shot. As it stands I need an extra 5 people to shoot -1 or worse to make the top 60%. Unlikely, but you never know...

Well it's a -25 finish for me. I'd have happily taken that on the first tee in R1, but it's also a little disappointing after a 62 in R2 left me on -16. Was targeting high 20s from there, maybe 30 if things went really well. Approach shot tempo was a big problem in Rs 3&4. All told, not a bad start to season 7 I guess. Be interesting to see how that shapes up in the final standings......I know it aint a winning score anyway. That’s some quality play Rob. Well done. Yeah, when the tempo starts to drift, it’s brutal. Mine swings for a normal 101 baby fast to a killer slow if I drift. Problem is it takes some real focus to get it back and keep the zone from drifting. It’s a great part of this new game mechanics. Cheers. Could of been better but putting was a bit hit and miss overall.....although I shot a 62 in R2 it included a 4 putt DB when I was looking at a makeable birdie putt initially. I do like how you cant switch off on the greens ever in this game. I play for the fast mostly here on XB. There are times when I feel like I can hit it almost at will and then there are times when I lose the feel (or something else is going on?) and I struggle to hit it consistently. Happened here in Rs 3&4. Playing for the fast on my approaches I just kept hitting a baby slow (occasionally seemingly over compensating and hitting a very fast), just couldnt for the life of me find the sweet spot for whatever reason.

At 7-under, I look to be comfortably through cut line so I decided to play my third round.
6-under. 13-under after 3.
But man, could have gone either way. Made some great recovery putts but bogeyed the last driveable Par 4 and had a par on the damn Par 5 18th
Still, I am pleased by my performance so far. I hope to have a great final round and be in the hunt for a top-20 finish.

Well that was pretty unfair. Round 1 on Sunday and happy with a -6. Turned on an hour ago and what in the name of fubar has happened to the putting? Shot 76 and miss cut. Really annoyed. Putting stroke has been completed changed mid-tournament.

ok then that confirms it's not just a server issue. Might be a real update... I've been hearing about it for pc players also

Not sure if this link paste is going to work, but here is the only way you could get it close on 17 in round 2. Edit: it worked.

Ugh possibly my worst good putting round ever (meaning I didn’t stub any putts or nuke one off a green). I am ok never seeing these putting stats because I burned so many edges and missed four or five 5-7’ putts in every possible way (short, high, or low). A ball striking fiesta turned into a putting S show.
69 in the final round...14 under overall.

Depends on the speed as well. I've always thought the hole in all golf games is disproportionately large, maybe by about 30-50%. Haven't tried to measure up say a 4 foot putt vs the 4.25 inches of a regulation golf cup....i.e. is the putt 11.3 cups long??

-5/-4 in the first two rounds for me. 4 lip-outs in the first round, 2 in the second.

-5/-4 in the first two rounds for me. 4 lip-outs in the first round, 2 in the second. Kept going, third round I 4-putted for bogey on 7, then 3-putted for bogey on 14 from 10 feet, lipping out the par. Then followed that up lipping out for birdie on 15, and missed a 9 foot par on 17. Ended up shooting -3.
Fourth round, 3-putt bogey on 2. Missed a 6 foot bogey on 10. Put my approach on 12 to 4 feet, then 4-putted for double bogey. 3-putted for bogey again on 14, and again on 15. Birdied the last 3 holes but that only got me to -4 on the round, -16 for the tournament.
