Hello all, First ever event (besides Q-School obviously) on TGC Tours, was quite nervous to start! A hole out eagle on the 4th from 191 out helped calm the nerves. Went on a roll for a bogey free 63 in round 1, and beyond missing an easy 7 footer had a good round 2 at 65. A 64 on Saturday put me at -24 going into Sunday. I played way too passive not wanting to "give up" anything, ended up with mostly pars for a closing 67 and -29 overall. I don't think that will be good enough to sniff a win, but hopefully I can hold on to a top 20. Interesting course, I wasn't a huge fan at first - coming off of Evangelist this course felt a bit "bland". But the course is a good test. Felt like irons and pitches were crucial, getting your balls to hold onto the greens was tough - but if you could you were left with some fairly easy birdie putts. Distance is always helpful (hello Bryson) but didn't seem as important this week. Looking forward to next week, already played one practice round on Kingswood and the course is visually stunning and plays tough. Some LONG Par 5's!!!

-6 for my opening round. I figured i'd give it a go. Eyes were definitely straining by the end. I was pretty happy with my round, only one really bad shot and it cost me. Missed an eagle putt and a couple of birdies, otherwise I might be in the top 10. Tough course .. gotta hit the fairway off the drive tho.

Fun course really, but I could have done without my computer trying to make me to see all of it, like seeing the driving range (?) off of one of the first par 5s and beautiful tree lines. Also visited fairways on the wrong hole occasionally off the tee shot due to frame skips (...after HB's acknowledged update, it went from being stable to being *not* quite as bad as it was when I had vsync on for the first week of Q-school, which was borderline unplayable). Honestly, this only probably cost me a few strokes overall. Other things cost me many more strokes, such as the only chip in I actually holed was for par after putting the ball off the green from 23 feet away. Had too many medium/short putts where I ended up smacking it well past the hole and couldn't make the comebacker, burnt edges like crazy, which is a shame because so many of those original putts were from some really nice shots on my end. 25+ ft putts after the putting update today was a complete crapshoot and I really had no desire to relearn all the tempos for the rounds this week. R1: -1 (71, this was my computer's touring round!) R2: -6 (66, a little less tour-ey, but probably left 6 or 7 putts within 6 inches of the hole from 12 or so feet out) R3: -2 (70, putting woes) R4: -6 (66, finally made a birdie on 10! hahahahahaha, also started off with a max very slow, almost holed out albys on the first two par 5s and almost jarred the HIO on #6. Missed the 6 footer per normal standards) Total: -15 (273) I pin hunted on #18 and made the 3 footer for birdie (I would say not even I could mess up a straight uphill 3 footer, but I'm pretty I have done that) that may have saved me from a MC, though honestly that high of a cutline would really surprise me. This course isn't all that tricky and I would expect it to drop to -8 at least, and I'm honestly disappointed that I didn't have a single round at -10 or below, or even close. I know I can make the frame drops stop by setting it to 60 fps, but then I get locked-in tempos unless I use a XB1 controller, so that's a fair play issue immediately with my ds4. So for now, I just have to try and deal with what the game gives me sometimes. Oh well. On a positive note, when the game is stable, I'm starting to be able to hit really nice shots consistently. I just need to not miss so many 4 - 12 ft putts. On to next week's pitchfest (somehow my blind speedgolf -6 will be better than any tournament round I have next week)!
Edit: On the spread of WGR's, mine is simply that high because I haven't played in a TGCT event since 2016. I imagine there are quite a few of us here that have very high WGRs due to a return from a long period of inactivity.

Solid -10 through 2 rounds. Nothing spectacular and had the new putting mechanic to deal with but overall happy with that outcome.
Should make the cut and that’s a good start for the first week of the season.

Rounds 3 & 4 in the bag. A nice symmetry across the rounds -3,-6,-3,-6 to finish -18. Putter was cold in rd3 but a lot to be pleased with, driving the ball well and reading the wind well. Need to work on judging splash distances from around the green and how lie angle affects the shot.
The course was well suited to my standard, the greens were undulating but still gave you a chance of a birdie and the variety of conditions were fair as well

What an absolute horrendous round. I haven't missed so many 4-5 foot putts since like day one and 2 of this game. Power was fine I just started pulling/pushing every short putt. I three putted from inside 6 feet all cause a pull that I've never had to deal with before.
That being said I figured -8 was what i needed to see the weekend and I was -5 coming to #16. My second shot on 16 was probably one of the best of both rounds, put me within 13 feet for eagle and I managed to drain that putt. Barely missed a birdie on 17 and was able to drain a 12 foot birdie on #18 to squeak me into the weekend.
Gotta figure out what happened with putting cause I lost about 5-6 strokes from close misses where I just pulled/pushed the bejeezus out of the putt.

Everybody below the cut who has played one round has also played their second round. -7 sits at 65th place right now...
Will somebody sneak in during the last hour or two and break the hearts of all those at -7?

129 have played.. wasn't there like 135 that got the card? I can't believe that after a horrendous start I needed to pick up 3 strokes and manged to eagle #16 and birdie #18 to salvage some pride.

Question- If I'm on the 1st tee of Rd1, but haven't hit a shot yet- is that still 2 red demotions?
ETA- Never mind- I see the rules say if you havent hit a single shot- you get a DNP. Teeing off on the 1st tee and not finishing gets you two reds. I'm taking the DNP, give me time to sort out this putting fiasco.

I’ve got it mostly figured out now as I’ve reverted back to how I putted in ‘19. -21 under for the tournament which I’m extremely happy with as I sit at the cut line at -8

Happy with how I have kicked off my season! After a 66 in Round one and a 63 in Round two, I was sitting nice at -15.
Struggled with round 3 in the wind came out shooting 69 to get to -18 Total.
Then Came out hot and was -7 thru 9 in Round 4 to then slow down on the back 9 with only two more birdies and to finish at -9 for round four and finish -28 total. Hoping this can sneak me into the top 10 and looking forward to next week.
