Carl's Bait Shop
Designed and built in 1971 by Carl Fredrickson on an abandoned rock quarry in an isolated area of northern Florida, The Bait Shop is beset by dozens of switchback paths leading to elevated tee boxes and viewing areas. In 2011 Carl's son, Walter, made some significant changes to the course adding even more teeing areas, resculpting the bunkers and greens and adding a few hundred more yards to the golf course. A few years later Walter built a home off one of the two lakes with a private three hole loop. Another practice area with three more greens was added in 2019.
Perhaps one of the most versatile courses in the game with over 120 unique teeing areas it can be played be played as a par 54, a par 74 or anywhere in between. Six of the 18 holes on the course can be played as par 5s and every single hole can be played as a par 3.
Carl's Bait Shop - Tour
This is about as far as I can stretch the original routing of the Bait Shop while keeping it at par 72. Specifically meant for tournament play coming in at a beefy 7,503 yards with slightly faster greens and bigger crowds than the original version. Four holes here have been mown with split fairways in a throwback to the original 1971 design and there is an alternate tee set (white) which will shorten the par four 11th to a drivable 280 yards.
Carl's Bait Shop - Picnic
Carl's friend is having his annual company picnic so he offered up his private three hole golf course for the day. You'll play the three hole loop 3 times, each from a different tee box to a very brisk par 31 at just under 2,000 yards. Although there is only one set of tees and pins for this version it's well worth the quick play and a great way to warm up for any round at Carl's Bait Shop.
Nothing but sweet drivable par 4s...18 of them! We had to borrow two holes from the owner's loop and two more from the practice center to make this routing come together, but the end result is a whole lot of fun. Only one set of tees here, but a full set of 4 pins to choose from. PRO TIP: Swap out a few short/mid irons for an extra wood or hybrids here.

Carl's Bait Shop - Elevated
Carl's Bait Shop - All 3s
This version uses hidden tee areas throughout the course to play every hole as a par 3 many of which feature unique angles into the greens. Coming in at 2,500 yards this one also features growing crowds that follow you throughout the course as you go along.
A unique version of Carl's Bait Shop using the most elevated teebox that each hole has to offer. Still coming in at par 72, the routing is a bit whacky with back to back par 3s and three par 5s in a row on the back nine. Definitely the most fun version of the bunch with several really big (100 foot or more) drops!
