I'm sorry but changing par from round to round just doesn't happen ever. I dont have a problem with any other changes but this is like Powderfinger growing a huge mound on the 18th for the final 2 rounds.

Hi Guys, sorry bit of a miscommunication between me and Biggins there. Our system doesn't handle the changing pars either. I've sent a message to him to see if he can bring Thursday/Friday back up to the par 72 that Sat/Sun is. If not, we're going to double up Saturday and Sunday to make the four rounds. Sorry I didn't catch that while testing.

I have no problem with anything that adds to the challenge but the short notice really isn't ideal.
Practice on the original version was deemed useless 4 days before the event.
And now practice on the Thurs/Fri versions could also be deemed useless 2 days out.
I don't think any of us have that much time to waste...

Hi guys I'm playing Shakespeare Saturday and on the xbox at least the 17th is broken. The score card says 538 yards, Tee from the normal location but I've been directed to the 18th over the normal 17th. Oh and there's two flags on the 18th. Hopefully it's just me

Going to be a quick turnaround on the first few courses that are right up against the change in difficulty. Shouldn't be an issue moving forward.

Can't see the issue myself, still got just short of a week before closing date for first two rounds and all weekend before the official start date. It's the same for everyone...

Can't see the issue myself, still got just short of a week before closing date for first two rounds and all weekend before the official start date. It's the same for everyone... This version(s) of this course requires a little bit of practice/preparation if you want to do well. You say it's "just less than a week" but many can't play on weekdays or have other commitments so might not have chance to find their way around 2/4 different setups in that time. Also, many (myself included) familiarise myself with a course as soon as it's on the schedule. The 3 rounds i played on the original are now totally worthless so that's a few hours of my life i'm not getting back. IMO It's a pretty basic principal that a course should remain the same from when it is announced to when we play it, or as close as possible. Real life pros wouldn't be too happy if they turned up at an event, played a practice round and then got told the course was changing dramatically overnight. That said i'm 100% sure more notice will be provided in the future, and i totally get & agree with what they are trying to do by making these changes.

Overnight being my point, not a week., keep it real... I tried to look for rules on pin placement release times but no joy, but it's the same principal. Thinking about it, is this not a GOOD method of subtle levelling as opposed to increased firmness or hole lengthening neither of which Im against. I'm all for these changes and respect all the effort that goes into it. Can't get my head round people raising their objections...
