Sat down last night to begin Evangelist and got a sexy Quad Boge to start. Worked my way down to a 72 for the round then went out and put up a beautiful little 80 for round 2. Thankfully went 71, 72 for the last two rounds. Went lightning quick through all four rounds and somehow I think it helped my putting because I went from averaging 33 to 34 putts a round in Whiskey to under 30 in all rounds. Wondering where +28 lands me when all is said and done. Hoping for CC-G but CC-F would be a pipe dream. Most importantly I just hope that the winning scores in my flight maintain somewhere around 10 under or so for the tourney. I think that's a fun number that could keep anyone competitive if they are able to stay near par on most courses.

After reading people's struggles over the last couple of days, I had a feeling this course would suit my steady play as I figure my way around. It will no doubt come back to bite me (and then some) but I have started well with a bogey free -5.
I will quote myself when I finish +10 for the next 3!

R1 was a comfortable -4. Practiced R2 several times and felt good (-5 last practice). Then I played R2 for real and just couldn't make a shot to save me. Three bogies in 4 holes then a couple birds, then a couple bogies, then a few birds to shoot E for R2. Could of been worse but still disappointing. Total for 6 rounds is -19. Way above my expectation.

I was hitting bullseyes with my approach and had a bogey free round as well. Rounds 3 & 4 are where most people seem to be struggling. I don't wish that upon you. Hopefully you keep up the nice shooting!

What's the over/under for DNF's because newbies thought the Q-School was only 4 rounds? Over/under for folks who now only want to do a 4 round qualifier?

After my smokin' +2 in round one, I came out of the gate with a vslow drive into the water on the first hole of round two -DOH!- it didn't look good. Managed to keep it together somewhat and made the turn at one over with three birds and two bogeys. I screwed myself three times on putts under 6 feet by not following through with the putter and hitting halfway to the cup, it is just nerves I think. Three more birdies and a bogey on the back for a one under 69 for the round, so I am slowly crawling back.

Hopefully you keep up the nice shooting! It turned out to be the case! I didn't play badly tee to green but I couldn't hole anything. A couple of 3 putts killed me and I shot a very frustrating +3 in R2. Time to recover tomorrow, I said I'd be happy to break par for the entire tournament and I'm sat at -4 overall so I'm performing well.

After a rough first week (+46: +9, +20, +12, +5) and my second week was no winner either (first 3 rounds +10, +6, +11), but I needed no worse than +20 in the last round to end up with a +99 (I know, awful, but we all need to have goals!). Naturally I shot a +21, for a +100 exactly after the two weeks. Aarrrgggghhhhhh!
One thing I noticed on my last round (I played the last 3 round in one sitting) was my swings were getting worse and worse. Then I remember reading about closing and re-opening the program (due to a memory leak?). It totally worked. My swing got back to my +6 round quality and the last several holes were OK (by my standards). I will be closing my game before each round from now on.
Now the big decision - keep playing in the weekly Q rounds or go to the beer league (where I actually shoot negative rounds)? I'll probably stick with Q rounds for a while still - I can still see some improvements.
Admins - thanks for all the amazing work, it was really fun for this somewhat new to PC golf guy (well, since over 10 years ago).

Well, looks like I'm headed back to Euro (Maybe Kinetic, but I think Elite). Came into R4 after a break and sitting at -42 for Q School. Figured I needed -5 or so to guarantee low Platinum. Struggled with tempo right out of the gate, but held it together to make the turn at -1. Then the bailing wire and duct tape keeping my game together shredded and I stumbled home on the back to a 73, finishing Q School at -39.
I uncharacteristically struggled with putting in R4 - could have been pressure, not really sure. I would target 36%, hit it 45%. Target 35%, hit it 23%. Not something I normally struggle with, but on 14 it almost cost me big time. I laid up, had a pitch shot in that I conservatively played to the right. Ended up just off the back right of the green, maybe by a foot. Decided to putt it, went for 35% or so, hit it 48%, damn near putted it off the green into the water. Only the lip on the retaining wall saved me. I wasn't able to get up and down, carding a bogey after being 16' away from a birdie to give myself a shot at low Platinum. I probably should have taken a break at that point, but kept playing, making a double on 16 - not fast enough off the tee, hit it in the drink with the downwind conditions. I actually had a par putt from 18', but 3-jacked it for the double. Made another bogey on 17 after missing another makeable putt and was resigned that I blew my chances when I teed off on 18. At least I finished good, with a solid drive and a striped 5w to 4' for a closing birdie and the 73.
The question is, can I improve enough to climb up to Platinum on regular event performance. I guess I'm going to find out!

Finished up round 4 just now, ended up with a 77 to be +20 for the tournament and +17 over the 8 rounds. The last two rounds mirrored my real life game a bit, pretty good with putting and short game shots but off target more often than not with the long game. I found a nice rhythmic tempo in this last round which resulted in a number of perfects and very close misses which still put me in a good spot but it was too late, the final four holes were the only time I played consistently well, birdied 15, 16 and 18 with a par on 17. Oh well, onto next week, wherever I end up. If I can get that tempo back and get it in the muscle memory I should be able to shoot better scores consistently.

I threw my (possible) card in the trash. Everything went wrong on the second lap. I lost control and played angrily until the end. I ended the tournament in a negative way. nor will ccg win. I'll be back in the next qualify.

First round at Evangelist, shot a 70, the first time I have EVER shot less par or less on any course in PGA 2K. Then came round 2: +14, which to my defense (weak as it is), was due to 2 holes. Hole #1, managed to hit the ball into the water 3 times! Hit the stroke limit. And on another hole, managed a quintuple bogey. Other than that, I played well!!! LOL
On to round 3
