Hey all,
I'd like clarification on what the game recognises as out of bounds please. Ive created an internal water body that it seems isnt recognised as oob but land within that same area is recognised as oob. Is this true and therefore I wont be able to set oob to my man made internal water?

Water supersedes OB. The game will not allow you to make water OB.

Well - that is stupid.

Silly, but at least i can account for it by blocking out everything I don't want a drop in to force line of sight to a more suitable area. Thanks for the response

Is it possible to do internal OB that is OB for 1 hole but not another? A course I know has the fairway of another hole on the inside of the dogleg as OB, can I do this in the game without making the fairway OB for the other hole?

No (short answer)

Generally, if you’re relying on internal OB then you’ve already gone wrong with routing/hole design and want to be editing the hole in question heavily. The only courses that really use it IRL are those that are trying to pack a lot of holes into too tight a property.

Yeah as a training exercise for my first design to get used to the tools I was doing a RCR of my local 9 hole track that had internal OB

I am designing my first course. I've spent three weeks on it and it's coming along very well. I have a hole with homes bordering it, and I put down O.B. Stakes from the Objects menu. But if a player hits it on the wrong side of the stakes, the game is not counting it as O.B.. How do you designate an area as Out of Bounds?

There is an option in the Create/Add menu that says "Out of Bounds". Select that, and you can use various sized brushes to mark areas as O.B. If you already have the O.B. stakes down, you're all set. Otherwise, add O.B. stakes, and that area will now be recognized as out of bounds when hit into.

is there a way to move the OB area once it's been put down?

is there a way to move the OB area once it's been put down? No, you can only add/delete brushes. I suggest putting down a line of stakes and then brushing in your OB along the edge of the stakes.

If you're using controller. Go to place ob. Select any brush. You'll notice when you move around the area where ob has already been placed that yellow spots appear. Those yellow spots are brushes you've already placed. Just hit the undo button (square on ps4) and that brush will be deleted. Same thing works for crowds.
