Welcome to Peninsula Kingswood (North Course), an RCR in Melbourne’s sandbelt. On a personal level, I have great memories here as my Grandfather use to bring me to Peninsula Golf Club (founded 1925) as a child to hit on the range, play tennis on the lawn courts and throw snooker balls inside the clubhouse 😉. I also held a full membership here for a few years and absolutely loved the luxury of two great courses close to home. Peninsula and Kingswood Golf Club have since merged and significant improvements to Peninsula’s courses have been made. It very quickly went from being considered one of the good sandbelt courses to one of the best courses in Australia and is currently ranked 6th in Australia (Golf Digest). It is without doubt, the most natural landscape of all the great Melbourne sandbelt courses. There’s also over 50 meters of elevation throughout the routing of the North course which is the complete opposite to other famous sandbelt courses like Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath and Victoria which are typically quite flat. For anyone ever wanting to play here in RL, like Victoria Golf Club, they do have guest rooms which accommodate visitors from around the world and is a great way to gain access to some of Australia’s best courses at very reasonable prices. I hope you enjoy……. Also if interested, here’s one of Erik Anders Lang’s videos of their visit. P.S. I believe there are some current PK members in the forums so I threw in a little Easter Egg for a part of the North course that always use to amuse me. I’m certain you can no longer see it when playing in RL (trees have finally grown to cover it thankfully) but as a hint, it involved a shitty backyard on the front 9 😉 P.P.S. He said not to mention it, but the sheer fact that b101 was good enough to spend some time checking over the course and tidying up some stuff I missed was very very much appreciated. Thanks Ben - this design community is extremely welcoming and helpful.

What an incredible video you made mixing the RCR and the real course. Wow. Look forward to playing this one.

What a great course. Played all defaults and just had a fun enjoyable round in and out of the sand. I would say its my new favorite sandbelt type course. Thanks for the incredible work here. I can only hope to make it to Australia some day to play this course and a few hours that I have now played in a video game. Wow.

Just a great rendition of a course that I've spent many hours staring at pictures of. Plays brilliantly and you've outdone yourself. Victoria was great. This is better.

I'm on a marathon golf playing and watching today, trying to find some consistency in this damn game, and as soon as I saw this thread, I was out for a round. I'm another fan of yours and this style of course you're doing. Your others are great.
And no difference here. Great job on this one. A beaut.

Played it! Loved it! Like most of the old Sandbelt courses length is not the issue. Ball position off the tee and around the greens is key. I really got that sense that these x2 factors stood up playing this course. Highlights for me were the approach shots (a lot of fun!), the green complexes (contouring and bunkering) and the superb planting which added to the sense of realism. Well done Walter White! Now bring us the South Course... please!

Love me some sandbelt and this is the best of the lot imo. Outstanding work. I'll be back for several plays on this baby.

Thanks everyone - great to hear you're getting some enjoyment out of it. The only real disappointing part for me was holes like 8 and 13. In RL, they are super fun to play and it's actually difficult to navigate both the fairway and greenside bunkers. In game, you just pull out the 295 driver and whack it on the green :/ Anyway, hopefully those particular holes will play a little more realistically in some high/head winds. Thanks again for all the support.

If we have an RCR competition, you’ve already won. I played an event in Victoria yesterday and now Peninsula to start my day today and, IMO. you blew the doors off an excellent RCR at Vic.
This course is an absolute revelation. The strategy of the tee is strong with greens that receive rather than abuse approach shots in high wind. I want to play this course every day on here...and hopefully in real life once I can get down there.
Ok enough singing your praises because I’ve got to go step my game up in the RDC. Cheers!
