After finally getting a lidar generated for my home course I can't seem to edit the course. I can load it and view it but trying to insert a pond or tee box does nothing any suggestions?

Have you tried publishing it in tgc 2019 first. Then importing it as a Legacy course into 2k21.
There was a topic about this at the Hb forum the other week,Designers were having trouble with Lidar straight into 2k21.

I had read that 2K21 would not take course files directly from Chad's Tool, so I tried to get cute and save the course file into TGC2019 and then copy that course file into the 2K21 directory. No go, the game does not know it is in the directory. I had to publish this crude Lidar import in TGC2019 (which I hated to do), then bring back the completed course for edit into the 2019 game, THEN move the course file to the new game. That worked fine.

That worked fine. You just have to open the course up once in TGC2019 (i.e. just saving it into that folder isn't enough). After that, you can copy and paste the course file into the 2K21 folder. So you don't have to publish.

At least for me, just moving the course file to the 2K21 folder did not work.

so to clarify the steps that do work (confirmed I just did this) create course using chadtool in 2019 (save course to 2019 courses folder) open course in 2019 (save and exit) then copy paste course to 2k21 (courses folder) and it will open exact
