Scores would be drastically lower on Pro. I’m playing fast off the tee but perfect for all approaches. With Pro it’s hard to miss perfect. It’s hard to miss Fast too if you’re trying for it. I hear what your saying but we a being forced into a certain shot type that bothers me. It hasn't really helped me. It has made my approaches less consistent in terms of tempo. Switching from fast tempo tee shots to trying to get perfect tempo approaches back and forth has me all over the place some rounds now. Have to decide if I keep it up or abandon it with the mass Q-School event looming.

Why not just FAST virtually every shot in conjunction with sidespin for distance control, stopping power, and less aim right!?

I get multiple fast variations mixed in with occasional perfects, so I feel like I have a better shot at getting approaches close is I try for perfect tempo on somewhat forgiving irons/wedges. I don't really have a consistent area in the fast area that I can hit. Like I mentioned in the Clubhouse thread... I use it to get the 295 driver in my bag and knock it far down the fairway. I also am prone to a miss right in the swing plane (cone/channel) when I go for this shot that happens like 50-60% of the time. Basically I have various results missing left/right that wouldn't be useful trying to knock shots in close to the pin, but I can get away with more on fairways... Hitting it into fairways isn't nearly as precise with distance control AND left/right dispersion as approach shots.

Well, to get to the jist of it, I played at the top end of my ability through two rounds. -7 and -7. I putted well and got really lucky a couple of times. How lucky did I get those times? Well, here are bookends of a five hole stretch: Round 2 Hole # 9
Round 2 Hole #13
Those would be my 1st and 2nd aces in PGA2k21. Only have had one other fairway holeout on top of those. -14 through 2 rounds and I am shooting for -20 for the event to be honest.
For context I have hit 44.43% FIR and 61.11% of GIR through 2 rounds. Perfect is not at all a thing I can do consistently, but I did in the above.
Edit for a course critique: the 5th green lagged pretty bad in both of my rounds so far.

Just finished the first round of this one. Bit of a mixed bag but ended up -1. Not disappointed with that. I've been working on short pitch shots (20-30m or so), aiming about a foot or two right of the flag, maxing out the loft and attack angle and deliberately swinging fast. Usually stops on a dime for an easy putt. Saved a number of pars doing this after approaches missed the green. I don't really deliberately try for fasts with any other shots, it's more a case of trying to avoid slows, or at least red slows. Most of those were slightly fast, slow or perfect, with the odd red either way. Not really too all over the place which was good.

If playing the Fast is so consistent then why are we playing Masters? Might as well play Pro and let us use the arsenal of shots I don’t play fasts and it takes 5-6 rounds of warmup to get consistent shots. It’s getting stale. I already said it, i'm a idiot, did they play the fast, 1,2,3, to 20 mix up with fast 100% to 105% ? Did you play the perfect mix with 0/0 ?

Played rounds 2 and 3 today, couldn't find any consistency with my swing. Ones that felt fast would register slow, ones that felt slow would be perfect, was probably me but pretty annoying. Both rounds over par. At least putting wasn't too bad, only left one way short on a tiered green.

I'm a broking YOYO ( cord are old and the bearing need some break cleaner ). If i'm correct, a baseball pitcher have no clue about a fast pitch or curve ? A boxer have no feeling about a jab or a uppercut ? GW Hope have no skill or try to stole the count ?

-7/-7/+2/+1 to finish at -11. Consistently inconsistent.

I'm -8 through two, having played my first rounds for nearly a week. So I guess it's not too bad.
The thing I am finding most tedious are the pinched fairways and the heavy rough mechanic. R1 was "Slight tempo miss off the tee, heavy rough, hack it out, splash, putt, repeat"
In 2019 I wouldn't have cared as it took a real effort to miss a fairway. Now it's just annoying.

You and Habs should live stream QS together to raise money for the tour. I’ll donate for sure.

Yep, I need an hour warming up and a unreal level of concentration during my rounds to produce my best stuff. Fairly envious of those than can knock out a 63 in 20 minutes but I just can't do it. Call it a lack of natural talent I guess.
I'll do Q School but not sure I have the time or inclination to play every week., esp on the tougher tracks that will feature on the top tour if I qualified for it. Finding it more stressful than fun and don't see that changing tbh
