Looking good. I'll try to give it a test play this evening. Maybe a warm up round for my Platinum tour rounds?

Have been pretty busy the last few weeks so I decided to take a break on designing and any time that I spent on the game was put towards tour rounds and getting better. I felt it was great to clear my head on some ideas and I came back in today to redesign a bit of the 11th hole and install a creek across the 2nd fairway. I also started work on the neighborhood so I thought I would post a couple of photos as I have them now:
Here is the 11th hole renovation, the idea came from the play-through video by Lifeonaboard . Thanks again for the play!! The renovation included relocating a central bunker and wrapping fairway more towards the end of the plateau so that a fairly easy layup could allow a shorter approach than before. I still imagine most players bombing driver to the fairway right of the green, if they can reach it, but this might at least tempt the smarter players to give themselves a full wedge shot in.
Here is also a photo of the neighborhood I have been working on that borders the course. I am going to go through every house and add cars, driveways, trees, fences, and some occasional backyard elements!
As far as the course goes. The front 9 is entirely done. The back 9 I still need to put some final touches on some of the greens and pin positions, but it is about 90% done. I want to sculpt the creek on 18 better and I will then be able to put final touches on everything else! I am looking to publish a member version when this is all done then I will go back and add some occasional tournament elements, speed the greens up, and remove the red and white tees and maybe publish a few sets of tees that could be played in different tournament rounds.

For a “rookie” design, this looks really good man! Keep up the good work Thank you! I have spent a good amount of time screwing around in the designer in the past, I just am never capable of putting together a project that actually works. I think since it is a contest I have finally found the motivation to really put the hours in to making it look and play well, as well as watching hours of ben and andre's streams!

Great to give the beta a play on stream and there’s so much good here, looking forward to the finished product! I’ll try to make my way through others over the next few weeks, so if you’re reading this and hoping for a play, just catch me on stream and ask 🙂
In terms of the planting look, a few popped up on my Twitter feed that I think are worth a look:
Shinnecock (for the gorgeous brown grass). Hackensack (autumnal sort of planting could go great with this look) Friar’s Head
It feels to me like a country club kinda vibe - so understated planting but you could get some really cool looks with tree lines and autumnal colours (be sparing with the bright reds etc). Given that you’re going Mackenzie bunkering, maybe look at some of his courses as well and find a look you like?

As far as the planting goes - I am really trying to match Cal Club, which really is pretty monotone in terms of the grasses, but has a very bright brown fescue in areas that you shouldn't go. I am having difficulty deviating from that scheme and still making it look like it belongs on a dry Northern California summer afternoon.

If you’re going dry then I’d suggest maybe switching to the delta theme and/or using the tropical trees. The sandier ground and different tree colours will really help. At the moment, it looks very green with that single tone of cypress, which doesn’t make me think barren/dry.
Cal club is a great inspiration though. Also worth checking Cali Tour Club by Matt, Matt and Jeremy for some planting inspiration - or most top delta courses from last game (Frankston, Aristida, Hoi An from this one etc). I always tend to research planting by going into what others have done and lifting ideas I like as well as trying to match real life pics where possible.

Have just published the 3rd and what I think is final beta: "TAC V3 jft". Please if anybody can give it a try I would really appreciate it. I am publishing as a beta even though I think the course is complete so that I can get my buddies to playtest with me as I don't have much time with the holidays coming up.
Baring anything crazy, I am going to publish the final version next week.

I really enjoyed my round. You have a lot of strong skill sets. While it's not too hard to believe, your bunkers and green sculpting eclipse skill level with those. I really enjoyed the look of the neighborhood from the course. The rookie contest is turning out to be a really strong field. I'm looking forward to seeing this after you spend another week or so tweaking things. Well done sir!

I have a few small things that I want to sculpt on the greens but besides that I think I am ready to go!

Looking great judging by the pics so far. Very best of luck to the judges this year. They will be spoilt by the courses but have to make some razor tight decisions judging by what I've seen so far.
