Farmers Insurance Open Round 1 Started crazy bad. Very Slow off the first resulted in bogey and then everything was slow for what seemed like the whole round. Was +4 thru 3 and didn't get much better until the back nine where I steadied the ship with 6 or 7 straight pars to finish 79 (+7). Should have birdied the last from 5 feet but I pushed my putt. Round 2 Missed a dreadful two foot putt on the third and double bogeyed the 7th. Other than that I played ok to finish 73 (+1) which I'll take considering I've been fighting a horrible push swing for both rounds.
Round 3
Tough conditions with the wind and other than a poor 3 putt on the 3rd I was going along ok until the 7th hole. Took another double bogey on it with a very harsh and questionable OB area. Rattled me for a couple of holes but then I steadied the ship until the 14th where I brain-farted OB off the tee and took a horrible triple bogey. Game over...until I chipped in from the sand on the last to get my only birdie of the round to finish 81 (+9). Awful round.
Round 4
Nowt good to say. Legend swing is far too punishing for my liking. But I'm gonna try and play every event and try my best to break par. Would love legend swing perfect zone with pro swing forgiveness, should be hard to hit perfect but not too unforgiving if you miss it. Also, you shouldn't be rewarded for playing for fasts. Anyways, enough of my annoyance of this game...Played crap, went OB twice off the tee on the par-5 6th for triple bogey. Doubled the 7th yet again, this time with a 3-putt. Doubled the 14th with a 4-putt which didn't help when it zoomed in on my avatar as the ball rolled by the hole when I was trying to read the comeback putt. Crap round of 82 (+10).
79/73/81/82 (+27). Looking like GreyOsprey is my nearest rival each event.

I think I finished over +30 again. If memory serves me, I battled slows early on and my putter the entire event. I have a very hard time getting a straight line on my putter swing, which really causes a lot of problems when trying to putt on legend difficulty. On to the next event.  edit: I did have this little gem on hole 2 ....2nd round, I think. On Legend difficulty, pars are few and far between, birdies seldom occur, but once in a blue moon..... |

Waste Management Phoenix Open Round 1 Was going along quite steady, just +1 thru 14. I thought, relatively easy finishing holes so I can finish under par. Erm...water ball approach double bogey on 15, three putt bogey on 16, water ball drive bogey on 17, water ball drive double bogey on 18. Shellshocking finish to finish the round at 78 (+7).
Round 2
Similar to round 1 thru 14 holes meant I was sitting at even par. Difference is I birdied 15 (nearly eagled it) and then parred the last three coming in. First under par round of the season. 70 (-1).
Round 3 A lot of ups and downs. Three straight bogeys on holes 8-10 was steadied with a good scrambled par on 11. Got back to even par for the day before an unlucky few bounces put me in the drink on 18 off the tee. Bogeyed it to finish 72 (+1).
Round 4
Just when I thought I was getting used to legend swing...zero birdie round. Putting let me down here, a few silly lipouts by rushing short putts. Hit 5 bogeys which means I shot 76 (+5).
78/70/72/76 (+12). Getting better...

Waste Management @ TPC Scottsdale
-1. +5 +1. +5. = +10.
I think that's my 1st under par rd using Legend swing. Very happy with +10. I just need to find a consistent (preferably straight) putting swing.
Enjoyed the event.

Event 4
Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Round 1
Started quite strong by making a 3 on the long par-4 2nd (not a par-5 as it plays as US Open scorecard here) and was -2 thru 6 but the infamous short par-3 forced me into my first bogey of the round. Struggled hitting greens after that and limped home with a mediocre 74 (+3).
Round 2
Played ok but bogeyed the 7th again and the 14th I have also bogeyed both rounds. Finished with a birdie for a slightly better round of 72 (+1).
Round 3
Rainy round...Seemed to affect my grip on the controller as I slipped on the first tee and ended up right next to a house with no view to the green. That meant a double bogey start. I proceeded to nearly eagle the second, leaving a tap-in birdie and nailed a 25ft+ putt on the third to get back to evens for the day. Funny old game. Middle of the round I couldnt hit straight and was a miracle I only got 4 bogeys as I nailed a few decent putts to save par. Birdied the 13th and everything looked back on track, until I shanked the tee shot into the right tree not far from the tee. A few shots later and I was on the green for six and then 2-putted for a triple bogey. D'oh. Birdied the last, which was close to an eagle, to finish 76 (+5). The double on 1 and triple on 14 costing me big time.
Round 4
Putter needs throwing in the bin. Useless round with it. I actually hit more greens (10) this round than any other round but hit my worst score. Only two birdies (5 and 18) and a host of bogeys to finish 76 (+5).
74/72/76/76 (+14).

Last day for the first major of the season at Firethorn. Smiffy has taken a great lead (-17). Can anyone beat him?
