Golfers, When facing heavy winds play close attention to small variations in the winds approach angle and use a little fade or draw to compensate. If you hit into the wind at a small angle it can still grab your ball and push it well to the left or right depending, especially near the end of your ball flight. Happy Golfing, -Mike  |

Me using the term Pro Tips as a mediocre player. Are the tips valid? Maybe you just got frustrated because the Pro Tips where not as serious as you expected or felt misled by the title. They are just lighthearted tips that I think of while playing. I explained all this in the original post stating that I am not a really a great player and would use some creative liscence by naming them Pro Tips. Doyley and the rest have extensive reports and playing guidelines. I play more from the hip and do not like to over-calculate my experience. What amazes me is that anyone would take offense from a community member posting some lighthearted tips just because they use the "Pro Tips" in the title. Maybe some of us take ourselves and the experience a bit too seriously and should lighten up, but I suppose I should just keep quiet since I obviously have nothing to contribute at my level of play. I'm sorry if I offended you by trying to have some fun in the community, -Mike  P.S. The nicest way possible would have been to not follow the tips and move on. |

I never said I was offended? Neither in the OP did you state anything about the tips not being pro tips etc... I was simply curious as to why they were being posted when none of the previous threads had had any replies but your sarcastic response has answered that  I guess your definition of "fun" is completely different to mine! But that's OK, it's not a crime if we were all the same the world would be a very dull place! It's good that you are trying to help those around you improve at the game, I'm all for that! I was just curious as to why when there appears to have been a distinct lack of interest by replies. Didn't feel the need for such a hostile and sarcastic response tbh but hey, we digress |

It seemed like you were saying I should not be posting these. Especially when you stated that you could understand it if one of the top ten were doing this instead. I'm not looking for responses just posting my take of the game. I apologize for the sarcasm as it seems you were really asking me a PM type question as to why I do these? If that is the real question then the answer is. Because I enjoy it. I also realize my original pro tip thread I think is in the clubhouse so my mistake. I thought about using only one thread but when you add to those by editing they can fade into the background completely. So when I said OP I meant the original post of Stonecomet Pro Tips. I really do apologize for what you considered a sarcastic response when I was flummoxed by your original response. It just seemed to be sarcastic in itself so I responded a bit defensively. Yeah perhaps my first post was a bit misleading! Yeah was just curious, wasn't stating that you shouldn't do them obviously there would be significant interest if Doyley did them so was unsure what you would get out of posting these if it's enjoyment then thats great and like I said it's good to see someone who is not elite (no offence) passing on tips to those around him |
