I've finally given in and gone to the bazooka driver like everyone else (used to carry the 288 TM) I did this as well yesterday. I just decided that a massive gap between my Driver and 3W is fine, going from 295 to 237. I can balance out the rest of my clubs going down.
Also, is the meta going forward to have that 294/295 driver and play for fasts here at TGCT?

Felt like a much better round2, after reverting back to the first set of wedges I used in this game, though I'm not sure that had much to do with it. btw, putted through this because it's an exhibition so what does it really matter (predictably a 3 putt), but just to define what's allowed and what isn't, want to make sure this is an instance in which we can chip/flop/whatever, right? I’d be putting that Justin. Doesn’t seem to me that the fringe is in the way, but I’m shite... so take that as you will 😂

And a 64 in R3.
Didn't hit a great deal better but scrambled well. 70 footer at the driveable Par 4 helped. Swing needs much work.

The fringe is literally directly in front of where I putted from.

I should hope all the par 3s were drivable lmao

-5, E, -3, +1 (-7) on Xbox. Had it going well in R3 and just imploded back 9. Round 4, I struggled with some poor tempo swings (my fault) and a few crazy VS/VF that didn’t make much sense. But my putting was just awful. I missed a few inside of 5 feet and blew a few past the hole like a tool. I don’t mind the putting on this game. But 187 greens feel very unnatural inside 10 feet. Maybe just a mental thing. I far and away preferred 187 in the last game but not in this one. There are a few players scoring well on Xbox consistently now. Nothing close to what some are reporting but good enough to be competitive I would guess. I’m not one of them obviously but maybe they can represent better than last game. Anyone have a general guide to no wind meter? I’m playing half-filled about 12 mph but no clue if that’s correct. Nice course! We got no chance bud. Ps4 miles away again 😪

70 to finish. Lost my s**t on the 187's. Clumsy chipping & putting and was +3 through 6.
Made some birds coming in to make it respectable. -24 total.

It'll be me, you, hammo and a couple more on the TBA tour :0 Why do you think you’re doing so well on the new game? You were awol last two seasons pretty much I think. And 19 was a far easier game than the current one. I didn’t play much of 19 because it was flickfest and one of the worst swing mechanics I’ve ever seen. But it did not mean I was bad at it, I still made the tour championship playing 13ish events. I’m good at this game because I know golf games and have always started quick out of the gates. I bet there are only a handful of people that can properly tell the correct distance needed on a 40ft 8” up putt not to mention putting from the fringe.

R1 -7 I think. The rest was just pure dross and speed play. Couple of things I’ll take from this event, the greens were absolutely horrible and if that’s what we’ll get every week I’ll not want to be here (hoping as it’s just a test event that anything goes with greens). The other...looking at the scores, I won’t be near the top end of leaderboard when we finally get going...if I even get here. How you can score -30 or -40 or thereabouts on this course with those greens is beyond me.

I'm still getting my head around the fact that the ball will hold on yellow bits of grid (and even orange at slower speeds). The 187's were borderline but the rest of the time I thought the greens themselves were ok, once you were on the surface.
The tiny green complexes that require a perfect shot just to keep it on the surface were fine in the previous games when a perfectly executed shot was almost a given for the top players. On this game it's really tedious. I ended up in some awful spots by being 5 yards offline. I could have hit it 20 yards offline and been no worse off.
I really hope we see a pivot towards bigger green complexes that give you a bail out if you decide to play safe or have a slight miss, rather than this constant s*** or bust stuff.
I see a lot of "but the scores are more realistic, what are you complaining about" but that's only true because it's still too easy to get it up and down from heavy rough so there's no real punishment for missing greens half the time
It should at least be an option to play for the middle of greens and try and make 25-30 footers, but it just isn't on most of these designs so the only score differentiator is maths/ how straight you hit it. That isn't a realistic representation of golf, even if superficially the scores look more realistic.

Just finished the first round of this event, second under par round at -2. Could have been a bit better if not for three bogeys. Too many red slows with approach shots and winding up in bunkers, need to work on that. Off the tee is generally ok except par 3 holes where I have similar issues to approach shots. Still, was happy to be under par in the end.

Scores are only realistic for people who don't have worry about the tempo issues that the majority of us are worrying about. To put it simply, the guys with the best equipment/internet will perform the best.

Just played two rounds and for the first time found myself under par for each one. Sadly the putting bug cost me 3-4 strokes on each round, so it should have been much better.
I'm hoping they will make the practice putting stroke show the feed back longer. As it is 1/2 the time it doesn't register at all and the other 1/2 it pops up and is gone before I can view it. All other practice swings show you the result long enough for you to get information, this is something I really hope they fix.
Enjoying the game. I definitively get birdies. I just gotta stop the silly bogeys and then maybe I can get competitive. As for those shooting these amazing scores, it is going to happen. Some people have worked really hard at the game. I've seen some with practice courses where they have holes ever 10-15 feet so they can map out distances with a fade, draw, loft, ect. That is dedication.

Push up faster on your practice putts and feedback will be there every time. Also push up fast on your actual putt and you won’t encounter the glitch. As for mapping distances it takes 20 minutes to do
