I'm not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere definitively, but is the API still working? Is it catching "unfair" swings in the new game? It is running, but unchanged from the last game. In other words, passing now is not a guarantee that one would pass when the season starts as we're still absorbing data. I'm speaking mostly about tempo. There's nothing in the current metrics regarding tempo so if someone is scripting to get 100% perfects, they may be getting away with that now, but will not be when the season starts.

BTW, what is the going rate to sponsor an event on the tours? Does that cost range between Platinum all the way down to Pro-Am? We're still working on all of that...it's secondary to getting the season started at the moment.

Just remember, we at VANDELAY Industries have been proud sponsors here at TGCT and have the resources to continue this relationship

Yeah, that's not a concern since scripting produces different tempo results with the exact same swing input. I presume the current craze of 'play for a fast swing and swing fast every time' is something that will continue to be okay? (Not that it works with a mouse on PC, there's been plenty of times I tried for fast and got slow.) Seems like it could end up very similar to the push/pull swing debate from 2019... (Sorry to open that can 'o worms, but it's going to happen anyways...)

(Sorry to open that can 'o worms, but it's going to happen anyways...) There are varying degrees of fast tempo. I don't think anyone who is playing that way can get it the exact right amount of fast to be pinpoint accurate, otherwise that would probably be flagged by the API. The idea of combining an overswing with a one way miss and an appropriate course management strategy off the tee is not really an exploit, it is just a good way to manage the challenge of the swing tempo and create scoring opportunities. A lot of us are basically smashing it fast off the tee and then trying for perfect tempo with irons and wedges. this would be realy hard for the API to judge because how many drivers am I hitting a round? Maybe 12 to 14, not a lot of data points. I guess others might be doing fast for every shot but in my opinion that is not an easy way to manage approach shots especially when the wind picks up.

So, does this mean I’m an idiot for going for perfect on every shot? 😉

Since this is the timetable thread - it's worth updating that a lot of progress is being made and these two weeks of test events will dictate if we can go September 21st. We should know by this Sunday as we get a full test week in on all things TGCT. Will be dumping a lot of news/updates on Sunday if that's the case. Take your time ... I'm still 5 putting.

So, does this mean I’m an idiot for going for perfect on every shot? 😉 Not if you’re having some success with it? You’d be an idiot to abandon something that’s working for you to copy what someone else is doing. If you’re going for perfect all the time and ending up in really bad spots because of a two way miss then maybe you want to rethink your strategy to better manage where your missed end up

I'm planning a big BBQ for my TST win. There are going to be tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, lots of attractive women, some Rocky move, industrial smoke and Mighty Habs sweater for all. If in the mood ? A "Sloaner the second " appearance. All welcome, it's free

Doyley or SmilingGoats Maybe I missed it somewhere and didn't see this answered already, but with the ending times of the weekly rounds being different, will the cut deadline time be changed here at TGCTours or no?

Not sure if it is binding or not, but we got a cut happen at the same time of the week that we had in the past a few minutes ago. Maybe just testing?

We'll have a lot of updates coming Sunday - stay tuned! Yay! Everyone will be playing with Beginner's clubs with no wind and medium speed greens. The idea is everyone will therefore be equal and have the ability to shoot -20 every round! There will be 18 way ties for first place so everyone feels like a winner!
